Theres no way you can dance and be effective against pressure that Frazier brings for 15 rounds, you have to stop, plant your feet, let the rapid fire go, then move. When Ali slows down, its always Fraziers fight, both at their best, he claws it back..He needs 2 good eyes for this though, not the blind in one eye that fought Ali. Ali had trouble timing Frazier too, he swelled up Frazier but in FOTC there was an ass kickin going on an it weren't Ali doing it

That's just it though. He was blinded in that eye in '65. There is not a point where Ali and Frazier could have fought that Frazier did not have that weakness.

Flawed premise based on little. Ali had two good tuneups. They weren't bums, Jerry Quarry and Oscar Bonavena. Not exactly men you go in there with while underprepared or out of shape. He wrecked them, he wasn't showing signs he was past it. He got destroyed by Frazier because Frazier figured him out, c'mon now, you can admit it. The man knew how to box Ali like Norton did. By the way Norton never actually lost to Ali, bull**** decisions that always gave the benefit of the doubt to Ali. Another man I'm sure you'll say prime Ali beats 9-6 on average because apparently Ali just couldn't be outpointed... Oh wait it only happened four times and your bias is showing more than a little. I have no bias for Frazier, I think he was pretty good but not a top 10 heavyweight for me. Foreman really destroyed him when that fight happened. He was irreparably damaged and I'm not surprised he never won a big fight since then.

They act like Ali could throw punches without setting his feet on the ground ever.

You do the same thing. Going for Tyson why? Ali's resume is far better than Tyson's. He fought and beat a better caliber of opponent than Tyson ever did. Tyson lost to a subpar opponent in his prime. Lost to every elite opponent he faced. That's why I would never go against a prime Ali against a prime Tyson. Now tell me why you pick Tyson over Ali. You pick Tyson because he struggled against Frazier. I pick Ali because Tyson got destroyed by Douglas.

It's rather disingenuous to claim the Tyson that fought Douglas was prime or anything like it. Tyson was a mess

I pick Tyson because styles make fights and Ali didn't ever take a punch like Tyson's with the weight and slowness of the guys he was fighting. Tyson would kill him with his lightning fast and devastating offence. He would've Michael Spinks'd him. Ali was a small and light hitting cruiserweight, they weren't the same size as the men Tyson fought. Many of them weren't even that skilled. Some of the guys back then who were highly rated would be nobodies today. Boxing has become a finer art since Ali's day.

Ali's not a cruiser. He was never below 200lbs, which is the minimum weight limit for heavyweights today. You have a point that a lot of Ali's opponents would have been cruisers, but not Ali himself.

Dude, cruisers cut weight, they weigh the same if not more than prime Ali in most cases. Don't be silly.

The Ali that fought Frazier was not prime whereas the Tyson that got destroyed by Douglas was. If an out of prime Douglas could whoop a prime Tyson, I think a prime Ali could do the same.

Same can be said about the op using the Frazier fights as the example of a prime Ali.

You just said that it was stupid to insinuate that a second ago. Are you ******ed? Prime Ali was also a ****ing cruiserweight who couldn't have hurt Tyson if he tried.
