its pretty close mate. Ali never fought under 200 lb, he fought at around this weight for a lot of fights

Tyson fanboys do exactly the same thing. Tyson throws one punch and KO’s all as long as Kevin ****ing Rooney is training him or some bullsh1t.

Fact is Tyson was battered and humiliatingly KO’d by a fringe contender in his physical prime (not to mention getting battered by a past prime Holyfield taken as a gimme fight).

Ali has no such skeletons in his closet despite facing an unprecedented amount of huge punchers and elite opposition. Tyson doesn’t compare for longevity or accomplishments. Deal with it.

I think Tyson was a very flawed boxer, not even close to the best heavy ever. But boxing has evolved since the days of Ali and Tyson was a better refined fighter than he was at his prime. The man was ridiculously quick, powerful and hard to hurt. Ali was a ****ing cruiserweight with meh punch power. He won't hang with modern heavyweights, deal with it.

    Sure he wouldn’t.

Knocked out an animal like Foreman who came back as an old man and won the lineal title in the Tyson era. Foreman also showed his mettle against prime Holyfield much more than Tyson did against past prime Evander. And Ali whipped that arse at his peak.

Tyson doesn’t compare. KO’d 5 times in 50 fights. Got his arse handed to him against every elite guy he faced. He’s basically the anti-Ali.

Ali wipes the floor with ****ing Tyson by any measure. H2H, resume, accomplishments whatever Ali kills the Tyson pea heart. You should be embarrassed with even creating a thread asking such a dumb question where the answers are such a forgone conclusion.

Ali >>>>>>>>>>>>>Tinkerbell by any criteria you can come up with.

Prime and peak Mike Tyson is dangerous for any fighter who ever lived. I'd pick the speed, combinations and confidence of peak Ali of 65-67, say, to beat him, but the very best Tyson would be a threat to anyone.

Just because some believe Tyson would beat Ali(I am among them) doesn't mean he was anywhere near the overall fighter Ali was.

Tyson is an actual heavyweight and Ali is a cruiser so just shut up. Size matters and weight classes exist for a reason.

    Pfffttt!

Ali was 215 plus for the bulk of his career. Plus Ali was 6ft 3 compared to Tinkerbells 5’10 . **** out of here with who was the legit heavyweight.

No, the older Ali was around 215-225 because he was flabbier that Ali wasn't nearly as good as the prime Ali who was 200-210lbs.
Tyson always weighed around 220 and he was much faster at that weight than Ali ever could have been at it. Just cop on. Let's not forget the weight of the opposition too. Tyson was facing heavier men on average. Ali was also most definitely not 6'3" but actually 6'1.5".

If Ali was 6’1.5 then Tyson was 5’9 at best.

The guy was tiny and comparatively chinny compared to Ali. This isn’t even debatable.

Ali at 224 in the Thrilla still had electrifying hand speed so stop talking bull****. Tyson on his best night would get his arse kicked by that Ali. Tyson was no Frazier in the heart or endurance category and Ali outlasted an animal like Frazier in the most gruelling conditions imaginable.

    Tyson? Forget about it.

Ali outlasted a Frazier who was destroyed at that point by Foreman, he was never the same. What a terrible comparison. Yeah and Ali would've beaten the cokehead Tyson too, doesn't mean it's a great win. Ali was not faster than prime Tyson at 224lbs and he certainly wasn't as mobile or even as good a puncher as the smaller version. Frazier was also a tiny heavyweight. He'd be a cruiser no doubt. He was what, 200-210lbs as well as Ali? They were all comparatively small to HWs not even two decades later. Remember, Tyson may have been shorter but he was way stockier than those guys and definitely faster and more complete a fighter than old Ali.

The closest style to Ali that Tyson fought is James Tillis. It was a close competitive fight and Tillis was on a losing streak. Ali is 10x better than Tillis. That answers the question.

Ali wins because he would take someone like Tyson serious and was too fast on his feet, also he had a jab that would punish Tyson. Nobody should be mentioning Ali was too skinny for Tyson . Ali fought the majority of his fights between 64 to 67 at 210 pounds or more. Tyson was a few extra pounds, so what lol Ali would get in Tyson head as well.
