The young Foreman who rolled straight over Frazier and Norton is better than any version of Riddick Bowe.

Did those claiming Holyfield had an awesome chin and defense see Bert Cooper stagger him badly or see Bowe drop him in the first fight and ko him in the third fight. Or see him swallow a plethora of punches against Michael Dokes and Alex Stewart.

We are talking prime George Foreman here.

Evander would have try to fight a survival type fight and hope George gasses. Ali was able to do it and Evander outlasted a faded Tyson but prime Foreman would be a tougher proposition.

Is Holyfield that much better than Joe Frazier or Ken Norton ? Sorry but I just see Holyfield suffering the same fate.

    1. holy was stopped by Bowe in the third fight because he had hepatitis and was coming off a period where he had been mostly inactive. That and at 33 he was last prime.

    2. Beet cooper was a hard puncher and forced Holyfield to momentarily get dropped. Happens.

    3. Ali was floored by Henry cooper but he outlasted George despite being past it

He had a better chin than either of those guys. And I can see Foreman taking a lot of hard precise shots from Evander with that poor defense he had in the 70s

True but that was in 1963, the rematch on May 21 1966, he learned his lesson and stopped Henry Cooper by TKO 6, no knockdown, I saw it live on ABC's Wide World Of Sports.

Frazier had a terrific chin. Besides, trusting your chin is not a clever tactic against Young George or Old George. Holyfield isn't Ali so he loses.

I’m aware of what happened in the rematch. But he still got decked by a massive left hook which he was lucky didn’t take him out. Point being both HE and Evander were durable guys who kisses the canvas and both HE and Evander were guys that I think could/did have beaten George Foreman

Frazier’s chin was hardly terrific. And Evander survived the artillery of Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Moorer, Mercer, awe hell might as well say anyone who could ever hit worth a fvck.. he could also take those punches while throwing back hard bombs himself and could go 12-15 rounds - something young George couldn’t...

Great as Holyfield was, he'd be eaten alive by that he-lion that the young Foreman was. The fight would be very similar to Foreman-Norton. Evander would have suffered a very similar fate as Ken Norton...getting brutalized, over powered and embalmed within 2 or 3 rounds. Unless you were named Ali or Young, you wouldn't escape that Lion.

I think he gets knocked out in five or six. His willingness to brawl would be his undoing this time.

The patient boxing version of Holyfield is going to get routinely cornered by the undefeated Foreman that fought Frazier, Norton and Ali. "Boxing" is going to go out the door as he finds himself having to try and fight George off. He may or may not have a moment or two (he's a great fighter) but for me there's only one guy coming out on top once the gauntlet is thrown down. Foreman TKO in 3 or 4.

Bad example,Ali was green like hell in 1963 not even fully developed he was a skinny boy, in the rematch with cooper ALI. (Now in his prime in 1966) simply smashed him. Holyfield was in his prime when he fought Bert Cooper.
