Simple question. Better wins and more impressive resume.

not how they won, not how they would do head to head. Better resume.

    Ruiz notable wins -

    undefeated Kirk Johnson ,
    38 year old Holyfield,
Rahman 5 years before wlad beat him
golota coming off a draw with Byrd, 30 year old Fres ouendo,
    past prime jameel mccline.

    2 X WBA champ

    vitali notable wins

38 year old sanders who had just beat wlad
    Comeback win over Peter
    Adamek
    Undefeated arreola
Kirk Johnson with only 1 loss
    Solís (weird one)
    Chisora coming off controversial loss
    Hide

    wbo champ
    WBC champ

I think the time off for vitali is what hurt him. That back spur was a hard thing to come back from.

Yeah you're right I was caught up in the hype that Ruiz beat holy and was the first Latino hw champion. I forgot about all those memories of vitali kicking ass, being the more dependable of the two brothers.

I'd still go with Vitali. At least he beat his men convincingly. Ruiz was a talentless, cheating hack who didn't legitimately defeat anyone of note. All those "wins" have asterisks. I had him losing all 3 fights to shot holyfield. The Johnson fight was a travesty. Golota got robbed. Rahman and McCline were very dodgy decisions etc.

not how they won was a criteria and not h2h. Just what history shows on paper

How they won makes the world of difference. EVERYONE with a bit of boxing knowledge should know that.

If you have a win against a certain fighter you have them on your resume forever. UD. SD, KO, TKO6. Whatever. A win is a win.

 you need to stop dumbing down the forum with this. How a guy wins certainly matters... that's not even remotely debatable.

How many boring fights has mayweather had? How many times has he squeaked past an opponent? A win is a win is a win. That’s why he’s the richest athlete of the past 10 years. He wins

But you can also say that Chris Byrd have a better resume then Lewis, since his 3 best wins match Lewis's best wins.
