Having me own Saturday fight night with a few gargles. Sky sports action showing some decent knocks. I always thought Chisora won the first fight and on second viewing, he absolutely battered Whyte. Whyte in fairness showed decent chin but I don't know how the judges saw it for Whyte - no chance!! Fun fight to watch back all the same.
Brilliant fight, Chisora took it like you say but that would destroy Hearns long game so Whyte go the nod.
One of the best straight up Heavyweight wars ever. I started watching Boxing in the early 70's so I don't say that lightly. Chisora was unlucky with the nod for sure but had he been properly fit he would have stopped Whyte. Props to both lads though. It takes a lot of courage on both sides to produce a fight like that.
Great fight, I thought it was close fight when I watched it live with Whyte just edging it. When i watched the fight a second time i had being an even clearer win for Whyte. The bigger shock to me was in the rematch the judge had Chisora ahead, I couldn't believe that. I scored it: Whyte chisora 2 1. 10 9 (close) 2. 10 9 3. 9 10 4. 10 9 5. 10 10 6. 9 10 7. 10 9 8. 10 8 9. 9 10 10. 10 9 11. Ko win Whyte Two Brilliant fights nonetheless.
Yeah watched it the other day. I had it wider (116-112 Chisora) 2nd time round. Chisora should have had a KD in the last round too.
Del clearly won the first The fact he gassed late and let Whyte back in to it gave the MR judges room to operate shall we say
Well, he had points unfairly deducted late on in that rematch, which forced him to press more urgently than he would have and walk right on to Whyte's money punch. So you can argue that it should've mattered. Del got the short end of the stick in both bouts. But the system is against Dillian Whyte, according to Dillian Whyte. Reminded me of Erik Morales' dad telling him he was way behind on the open scoring going down the stretch in the first Danny Garcia fight, urging him to go all out to stop Danny. Of course, Erik pushed too hard and walked on to one that effectively ended the bout for him. Another example of biased officiating (poor scorecards) pushing a guy into overextending himself.
That's a good point, I'd totally let that slip from mind. I'd long maintained that Whyte never truly separated himself from Chisora 'level' wise unlike pretty much everyone else who'd beaten him. The arguing narrative is that Whyte was allowing Chisora to outwork himself to make him a tired target late on, though I don't personally subscribe to that one. I've grown very weary of his unremitting whinging, to the point I hope he does get one of the top 3 and they truly splatter him.
