Yeah, and that might be on the optimistic side.

I think looking at other countries and their approach to the post-lockdown stage gives us a clue as to what might happen here. Austria for example are putting the plans in place to allow small (400 metre sq and below) shops to open but you will have to wear a face mask to use them. Just about everything else remains the same.

My guess is nothing will really change here for a while, (we've clearly flapped a bit about testing) but when change comes it'll be very small; perhaps a few non-essential shops opening and being allowed to visit friends/relatives, all whilst still being told to be very wary of vulnerable people and symptoms. That might be in place next month, but I don't see most offices and the like opening up as they were until late summer. Sporting events with big attendances will presumably be one of the very last things to get going.

 

Yeah, a few hapless experts on here. I do wonder what it is about people which makes them think they're fully qualified to wade into discussions they palpably know absolutely nothing about. It's a strange form of arrogance I suppose, but when you see this sort of thing and poor old Unforgiven's bloody death in the street stuff you really have to laugh.

That was our prime minister talking only a few weeks ago. Is it any wonder the likes of myself were quite flippant about this disease and more worried about the impending economic disaster? This was a bloke who was listening to his medical experts. I can see Tony at it with Unforgiven and others...reign it in a bit. Yes we were flippant, but so was our national leader.
