Margarito's innocent, I've never bought any of it for even a second, and the people who scream guilty, are only selectively hearing what they want to hear to confirm their bias. There's plenty of evidence to the contrary, but in this zero tolerance can't change your mind society, they choose to stick their fingers in their ears and say lalalalalala, because that's better than admitting maybe they jumped the gun and were wrong. Only an illogical mental patient could think a guy like Cotto could soak up that ungodly amount of punishment from a loaded glove and not suffer long term consequences. A beating like that with a loaded glove should have ended his career. Use a little common sense once in a while, it's surprisingly effective most of the time.

    Pretty much!
His trainer Javier Capetillo was pretty much guilty of using an old guaze pad instead of a new one. For that they suspend Margarito for one
year and ban Javier Capetillo for life.
A year after this happened when Margarito is re-applying for his boxing license Robert Garcia is allowed to look at the knuckle pad in question. A real thin piece of gauze that you can still fold.
Where is the brick Nazim Richardson described fell out of Margarito's handwraps???

From how I see it, Richardson instigated the fraudulent accusation by overblowing what was actually in Margarito's handwraps and HBO in welcoming the controversy ran with it to the point the CSAC felt compelled they had to do something about it.

I guarantee you one thing had it been a high profile cash cow that was caught using a used knucklepad, nothing would have ever came of it, the CSAC would have tossed out the complaint without even a hearing taking place.

A year later when Robert Garcia looked at and held it, it still had not hardened. LOL!

You must have gone to a Donald Trump course in debating. Whenever someone doesn't have a rebuttal, first course of action is to resort to name calling.

Yep if a fighter lets him get in a rhythm where he has this relentless output then that’s gonna be the end result.. Cotto’s scar tissue failed him and what convinced me was in the rematch Tony was coming on strong at the end and Cotto was spent until the ref saved him..

Mosley was too fast and Tony couldn’t land cleanly and Paul Williams had an even higher punch output than Tony early in the fight..

"Plaster wraps" is an urban myth. In reality, it is literally impracticable.

That is the long and short of it. Cotto was clutching at strands of black thread.

Margarito was taking his opponents souls with his beatings. After the Mosley fight, his punches weren't the same.

This idiot Divac ruins his credibility with his insane bias. He's now claiming he believes Pac did load his gloves lol.

Well, after the Mosley fight and a lengthy layoff, he fought, dropped and repeatedly hurt a very durable Roberto Garcia (who made him look like Ray Robinson), a very durable Manny Pacquiao upon whom he could not land his usual amounts of leather (but had an impact, by Manny's own admission, when he did hit him) and whom ruined his eye, then a Miguel Cotto whom was generally elusive before being spared the trials of the last three rounds after Margarito started coming on in the 9th. After that, he was done. He came back a shell of himself, boxing 154lbers.

I was a huge Margo fan , I didn't want to believe he tried to cheat, so waited for his comeback fights to see before judging, Saw his first 4 fights and his "power " disappeared???? What happened to his power??

Has there ever been a fighter caught out for using plaster in their wraps? I can imagine it happening in the old days and then it just becoming some sort of urban legend type of thing, I just can’t see any way that any fighter would do something like that with all the checks that go on, those sanctioning the fight would have to be involved, there’s just no way, the number of people that would have to be involved in something like that would make it impossible

Dont laugh !! There is just as much suspicion regarding Pac as Margarito
There was NOT one iota of proof in either case. BOTH should be proven innocent
