Me and a friend want to spar together (in our country it isn't a popular sport so we need to train ourselves). I love boxing, and I totally think it's an art, but because of my proffesion (my second love of course) I can't afford myself to have a brain damage, even the smallest one. Together with light and considerate sparring, we want to order the best equipment for it. There are soft gloves which are recommended for it? soft for my opponent, not for my hands. I found the "Contender Super Soft Boxing Gloves", someone tried them? There is a better option? Headgear - I understand that headgear suppose to prevent cuts and doesn't prevent concussions, but I guess that with soft gloves, a headgear can help prevent brain damage too. Is all the "gel technologies" worth something ("TITLE GEL World Full Face Training Headgear"/"Ringside Gel Sparring Boxing Headgear")? Thanks for all the suggestions!
Thanks for the advice! If I understand you correctly, I should pay attention to equipment that doesn't prevent cuts or nose breaking. But I am mainly concerned about any damage to the brain (small one every sparring session and continual). Which equipment should I look for to prevent this damage?
The gel sounds cool better find headgear that doesn't shake around when you grab the grill my aunt Linda had dimension for a couple years and I don't think she was boxing.
Yea, technically you're right. But, because the headgear doesn't suppose to prevent the brain damage, the best way to prevent it is to use very soft gloves that absorb the impact (and thus the neck doesn't move sharply and the brain doesn't shake).
