Michalczewski HOF worthy?

Two weight champion, held the WBO, WBA, IBF & 'lineal' LHW titles and the WBO CW belt for a short period too. Beat the likes of:

-Montell Griffin who has two wins over Toney
-Richard Hall X2
-IBF & WBA champion Virgil Hill who only had one loss to an ATG
-Drake Thadzi who was coming off a win over Toney
-Nestor Hipolito CW WBO champion
-Graciano Rocchigiani X2 (2 weight champ, first fight was controversial)
-Derek Harmon who has wins over Glen Johnson, Tim Little

Etc

Started out as a fairly basic pressure fighter type with a huge right hand but over time evolved a devastating jab & abilitiy to cut the ring off.. had great timing, piston like punches & could mix it up to head & body too.. shades of a LHW Tszyu somewhat.. the guy was legit.. excellent cardio, chin & overall durability also.. his fights with Hall were brutal btw..

Holds the record for the most consecutive successful world title defenses at light-heavyweight. Was just one fight away from tying Marcianos 49-0 record but lost on a SD age 35. Finished 48-2.

Well, DM was better than Gatti and Mancini, I'll say that.

 

I think so . He is also one of my all time favorites. Along with Hearns,Trinidad,Hatton and GGG. Michalczewski I think is how you spell it off the top of my head.

 

He ought to be.

I can't think of a great reason that Hill's in and he isn't other than one's got the wrong passport.

 

I really wanted him and Roy jones to fight. I don't think Jones wanted it though.

 

When did he develope that thudding jab? Watched some of his early fights and didnt see that jab.

 

DM deserves to be put into Inter. HOF. No doubt about it. He's one of the Best Lt.Heavywight World Champions.

 

I think he gets in eventually on a down year but might be waiting awhile. He was a very good fighter but like everyone else says, he really needed that fight with Jones.

And the way they striped him of wba; ibf was criminal.

 

Tiger! Tiger!Tiger!Tiger! Even though he was way past his prime, I loved those fights with Hall 1&2. Also he was almost shot and had the flu when he fought ring top 10 Derrick Harmon but just willed himself through and Stopped Harmon. He was exciting and tenatious. I also loved how he ran over Montell Griffin and Stopped him in 4 rounds. Also of course when he was in his prime and dominated Hill who was coming off a great win over Henry Maske. Hill was the only fighter to ever beat Maske. I mail ordered all the Michalczewski fights I could find back then.
