Styles make fights. It doesn't matter how many times we say it some people just don't get it.

Watching Margarito look like he was fighting underwater would of got old quick. If I wanted to pick a guy not called Pacquaio to give 147 Mayweather a headache I'd go for Paul Williams.

My money would be a prime DLH to be his toughest fight at 147. Who would probably be a vegas favorite. His long stiff left jab would be a big problem.

DLH gave him fits past prime but no post Mayweather version of him gets closer than he came. That was his last top performance as a fighter IMO.

At the time or ever? Tommy Hearns is my go to for ever. Paul at the time. Del a Hoya was gone once he came back down to 147.

At the time. Yea Tommy Hearns is like the go to defeat anybody who ever won a title at 140 and below. He's just too big and long. A former 130 pound champ like Floyd would be helpless against the long armed power of Mayweather. As would anybody else his size.

Answer me. If Maidana Floyd never had happened, what would you have said about a fantasy fight between them?

Maidana improved a lot as Mayweather entered a period of decline. 30 year old Mayweather likely embarrasses Chino but the answer is we'll never know.

Maybe, but I meant the version that did fight Maidana. Most people would have said he would have been schooled 12-0. Reality was completely different. And Marg >> Maidana.

So we're putting a faded version of Mayweather against peak Tony now? Hardly seems a fair way to make a hypothetical match against two guys from the same era.

And I'm not convinced Margarito runs through Chino, especially the version that fought Mayweather. The reality of that fight might well be very different to how you've imagined it too.
