Margarito is underrated. I think people only remember the Margarito after the layoff. But in his prime he had subtle defense, feints, punch variety, knew how to ride with shots and used that to counter during exchanges(you throw a right, he’ll ride and throw a left hook to the body or left uppercut to the head for example) and ofcourse applied insane pressure. Beat Clottey, Cotto and Cintron. Augustus’ relentlessness and variety gave Floyd a lot of trouble and often overwhelmed him causing him to freeze in place eating combos. If Mayweather reacted like that vs Marg he could easily end up beaten up like Cotto did.

Most Floyd fans don’t even understand his style. It’s why they were so adamant in him destroying and stopping Maidana, acting like pressure is just playing into Floyd’s hands.
