Given that its very hard saying who would win however Im agree with Alis son about the fact Tyson wasnt a 15 rounds fighter. Besides Ali beated three of the hardest punchers ever: Liston, Foreman and Shavers... plus other hard punchers like Frazier, Lyle and Norton ...so Ali would probably have won against Tyson imo.
For you instead ? Are you agree with Alis son?

Nobody could have stopped Ali early, Shavers hit harder than Tyson and couldn`t put him away, but Mike would have been the best finisher Ali ever met, so it would have been interresting, AAli`s chin and defense was far better than Bruno`s who lasted 5 rounds against a Rooney less Mike, Thomas lasted 6 and he was nowherre near Ali`s level.

If Ali could survive Foreman, Liston, Shavers, Lyle, Bonavena, Frazier, etc he could survive Tyson. Tyson’s a different animal with his speed but he didn’t hit as hard as George or Liston did. Plus he got tired real quick. This is a bad matchup for Tyson.

I think prime Ali from '66 beats Tyson. '70s-era Ali loses to Tyson via decision, though.

Source? I believe it but I've never seen Shavers say this.

Against a prime Muhammad Ali, 1964-1967, Tyson would have gotten flustered and quit. Ali had footwork, rhythm, reflexes, stamina and speed. Mike had speed, but Buster Douglas made him look ordinary, Ali was way faster than Douglas in his prime years.

Another Mike Tyson thread? Look up the word insanity, the outcome is not going to change in this hypothetical bout, acceptance. New subject needed on these threads. And I am not allowed to post new threads? This is getting old. Why can't Tyson fight someone else, instead of Muhammad Ali, How about Sonny Liston in his prime, Ali in his prime beats Tyson every time, I am done.

Got it backwards. 66' Ali gets KO'ed early. FOTC Ali outlasts and UDs Tyson. The extra weight would help his durability and strength in clinches.

'My dad would beat your dad.....'

I think this is possible. Tyson's style was designed to hunt down jab and move merchants like Ali and Holmes. It's designed to take the jab away by slipping it and countering it with brutal cominations. Tyson brought to boxing what blietzkreig brought to modern warfare. And before anyone brings up Patterson, this was an evolution of it.

Demato always had a plan to beat Ali's style:

This comment is simply is a nonsense. Not question of getting emotional or not. Taking in count that Tyson had problems with good movers like tillis, green ,Douglas or tucker is simply absurd the idea of thinking that he would ko Ali early. Muhammad was better than these guys in every department that troubled Tyson, he had faster hands, faster footwork, he was much harder to hit clean,he had a much better chin, he was mentally much thougher ,had better stamina and heart and had huge confidence in himself . So i think that it is very evident that Ali would improve the result

Its rly a question rating Alis beard. What happened between Cooper, Frazier and Foreman? Did a man get hit more often and adapted to getting hit on the chin? Possible.

In a ten or 12 rounder, I don´t see any of the two stopping the other. Ali took Patterson and Mildenberger both 12 rounds. In a 10 or 12 round bout I can see Tyson winning more rounds and the opposite in a 15 round fight.
