Agreed. I think at some point he ran out of people who could reasonably give Dempsey a run for his money, realized he backed himself into a corner with his idiotic remark and started listing random names to save face.

Someones feelings got hurt when he was exposed to the truth of sports science. Romantics on a forum might like to dream otherwise but 180lb punchers aren't going to come close to bigger stronger more explosive men's power. It's simply a biomechanical fact. Where are Dempsey's 1 punch KOs? All the guys I've listed had 1 punch KOs against SHWs, Dempsey doesn't on film at least. He took about 200 punches to put the farmboy Willard away

An outright lie. It's becoming increasingly clear, you haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about and now that you've been backed into a corner, have resorted to changing the subject (from naming the 100 fighters who've without dispute hit harder than Dempsey) and flat out lies. I'm done with this debate. A 5 year old could've given me a better argument than you. Get ****ed.

For me he wouldn't cut it with some of the bigger later heavyweights but for a guy around 190 pounds he, like Marciano, hit about as hard as anyone around that weight is ever going to.

We're talking raw power though, not about finishing ability or breaking an opponent down

Dempsey was an accumulation guy himself for the most part. The haymakers he threw against Willard and Firpo, he wouldn't be able to throw against a modern opponent because he'd miss and get countered. Notice how Dempsey can't put away smaller opponents with a semblance of boxing skill as easily as he can against weightlifter Firpo and strongman Willard.

If Witherspoon, Smith and Dokes loaded up haymakers against 2 guys with no amateur background wearing 5oz gloves they absolutely would be more concussive and damaging with a single shot. However you're right Dokes didn't load up with haymaketer because he wasn't facing weight lifters.

I don't think Dempsey could put Occasio away as fast as this:

And I don't think he hammers Witherspoon like this, Smith was incredibly strong even if he didn't have elite skills.

Most of them do, they finished opponents faster than Dempsey would be able to because they're more powerful due to having stronger more explosive muscles. You're a romantic and overly sensitive, bless you

Dempsey broke the jaw in 2 places of 7'2"300lbs Big Ben Wray, and he did it with one shot.

Is it your signature quote or what? You didn't expose anything and I don't see anybody having his/her feelings hurt.

I will give you some homework.

Read Dempsey's instructions on how to throw a punch, in his book "Championship Fighting", and then execute it yourself on a heavy bag.

That should give you some idea of where his power came from!
