Championship Fighting is one the best books you can read for describing the power line and generating power in your punches. Your comment shows how ignorant you are towards these matters - read the book, it's easy to find. Bruce Lee basically plagiarized this book for his punching mechanics in JKD, and rated it extremely highly, alongside The Straight Left and how to cultivate it by Jim Driscoll.

I've read it, I know how to box so I already knew all the techniques in the book. It's enlightening to you because you don't know how to box.

Here's me boxing years back. I've had over ten bouts now. I've literally been boxing my whole life and my dad is a noted trainer in my country, with 50+ bouts. Maybe you wanna post footage of yourself now as well, enlightened one? You are an absolute dog**** poster and provide nothing to the forum - no posters appreciate your blatant bait and stupid opinions, no sources, not even good writing. I notice you never post in the scorecard thread, and never post in lower weight threads such as McGrain's Fly Tourney - because you have a low amount of boxing knowledge and absolutely no analytical skills. Jack Sharkey fought both Dempsey and Louis he picked Dempsey as the harder hitter ,that puts him comfortably in the top echelon as a banger imo.

 

In fairness, if guys like Smith and Witherspoon were as fast, explosive, and aggressive as Dempsey, and if they fought the men Dempsey fought, under the rules and conditions of Dempsey's days, they'd each have extraordinary amounts of first-round knockouts too. The same probably holds true for dozens of other heavyweights, including plenty of less heralded ones.

But to the point in hand. All Dempsey's writing teaches you is how to sit on your punches and turn your punch over. It's basic boxing knowledge.

I'm not making a list of 100 boxers who hit harder, I'm just sure they are because he's a 180-190lb boxer. There will be lightheavyweights who hit harder because he isn't that explosive.

The fact there's so much insult over the pissing contest of punching power is laughable anyway.

 

You most definitely did not appeal any science whatsoever. Make any case you like, but don't blatantly abuse the meanings of words.
