My old scorecard Roman Chocolatito Gonzalez vs Srisaket Sor Rungvisai Choco SSR R1: 8 - 10 (Roman's usual slow start costs him. SSR very effective here. Brilliant body shot) R2: 9 - 10 (SSR a bit more active and effective. Roman picking up towards the end) R3: 10 - 9 (Headbutt! Close round, with Roman being more accurate) R4: 10 - 9 (Roman wins on activity rate. SSR getting more effective towards the end) R5: 9 - 10 (SRR the ring general here. Roman landing less. Some sneaky thudding body shots from SRR piling up) R6: 10 - 8 (Point deduction) (SSR focused more on wearing Choco down than actually scoring here. Roman does the scoring instead) R7: 10 - 9 (Close round. Lots of grazing shots. Roman a bit more accurate and landing more, and Rungvisai's superior generalship doesn't catch up) R8: 10 - 9 (Very close) R9: 9 - 10 (Wangek bulling Roman here. Controlling center ring and landing some thudding blows. Clear round) R10: 9 - 10 (SSR just not affected by Roman. Sneaky, thudding shots and superior generalship) R11: 9 - 10 (Roman not effective here. Neither landing much clean, but SSR is landing and controlling) R12: 10 - 9 (Very close, but Wangek a bit too inactive for my liking. Roman was more accurate and active) TOTAL = 113 - 113 DRAW Notes: Awful commentary. Kevin Kelley's scorecard is atrocious. My score is different to when i first watched live. SSR is a fighter in the mold of Venice Bhorkorsor or Khaosai Galaxy (this win is better than any of Galaxy's actually) Roman is too small for 115. 108 was when he was in his absolute prime. Lots of sneaky headbutts from Wangek lol. He is a very strong ring general tho.
No, you got it twisted, man. It's the opposite. Roman was landing sharp and clean over and over. Rungvisai was hitting arms, elbows, and windmilling in the air hitting nothing most of the time. Roman's technique and accuracy was several levels above Rungvisais. He made Rungvisai look like an amateur. Sorry, but that's just a terrible card. You didn't give Roman the sixth when he landed three times as much and Rungvisai got deducted a point for headbutts. He beat that man's ass for three minutes pillar to post and you wouldn't give him the round. That's just weird. It's okay though. Everybody gets bad scores. When I was your age, I thought Holyfield landed the harder shots and deserved to beat Lewis for their first fight. I didn't care about jabs and only wanted to score damaging punches, so I thought Chavez should have beat Whitaker too. And I wouldn't give credit to Leonard for beating Hagler because I thought that Hagler was stronger, his punches hurt more and he took Leonard's better. That's what I thought. I've been where you are and scored how you are scoring. But my scoring process has evolved. The reason I brought up all of the other posters and media scores is twofold. 1) I know you think I suck at scoring because of how I scored this one. I just wanted to show you that if I am, then I'm in the majority. And 2) those guys that you look up to, and think know how to score, they are all in the minority in this case. Take from that what you will. I'm sorry if I come off arrogant or condescending. I am arrogant and condescending, but I'm also passionate. This fight and this fighter mean a lot to me. And I'm trying to teach you something here because I think you're still young enough to learn. I can talk 'til I'm blue in the face to CST and he's my age, there's no changing his mind. But you're still on the come up, and I want you to come up right. Now, not everything I tell you is going to be right. I'm a madman. So's CST and IB. We're all madmen, but we know some things and we mean well and I think we all want to make an impression on your younger generation. Now, I ain't your daddy or your preacher. I've said my piece, so I'll shut up now.
Looking through everybody's cards back to back is interesting. Seem to agree rounds 3, 7, 8, and 12 were close. What a fight though. I was not expecting what happened the the second. I don't know if anybody watched the HBO replay when rewatching this fight, but the garbage Kellerman was talking at the end was ridiculous.

I thought this was an excellent fight, but personally I'd say their (first) fights with González were both better than this. Beautiful skills displayed in this one, I hope someone doesn't come in and tell me why my cards awful since Estrada has a higher landing percentage or some ****. Rungvisai's footwork was really subtle. Unrelated Note - This is why we need same-day weigh ins to return. Rungvisai was a SFW on fight night... that is ****ing ridiculous. @CST80
This is fine. About how I had it. I think your Gonzalez score might be fine too if you'd made the sixth a 10-8.
I'm not saying that it's a 10-8 round for Gonzalez because of the point deduction. It wasn't a 10-9 Rungvisai round before the deduction. It was a 10-9 for Gonzalez before the deduction which made it 10-8. Rungvisai landed more headbutts than punches that round. It was all Gonzalez bell to bell, he had Rungvisai's head snapping and his feet backing up. Gonzalez was the one in control doing damage for a full 3 minutes. I just rewatched it. That's what happened.
I figured out what you were saying in your last comment and I rewrote my response. I took it you were saying something else when I wrote what you quoted. I'll repeat myself though. Gonzalez winning the round had nothing to do with the deduction.
Canelo vs GGG 1 Round 1 - Canelo Round 2 - Canelo Round 3 - Canelo Round 4 - GGG Round 5 - Canelo Round 6 - GGG Round 7 - GGG Round 8 - GGG Round 9 - GGG Round 10 - GGG (close round, could go either way, but I thought GGG edged it. The last 3 round are all very close.) Round 11 - Canelo Round 12 - Canelo Final: 114-114, Draw
Can you give me a link that says you have to take the point off of the fight total and not from a round? I'm not seeing that anywhere. I'm willing to believe you. I'm just not sure what difference it makes. I had it 116-112 for Golovkin but I didn't have 4 even rounds. Comes to the same thing though. Good score.
Yes they are from app. I am trying to count every punch during the fight. With one action point or two or even three according to the hardness of the punch
Okay, but I tried to read the scoring instructions from like the IBO and I didn't see that. They covered the ten point must system, knockdown scoring. They mention point deductions but not whether they are scored in the round or after the fight. Anyway it's very dry reading and kind of legalistic. My experience of reading the ABC bodies rulebooks is they are all like that. Last time I had a reason to go into them was when CST and I disagreed about how to score Juan Manuel Marquez vs Chris John. I think I had Chris John winning but Chris reminded me of a similar rule about point deductions; so after adjusting to that I had Marquez winning like he did. I think Marquez was deducted 3 points in that one. Sometimes, Chris does get the better of me in these things. Not often, but it happens.
