Wilder had biceps surgery and should be back working out by the end of May, according to Ring Magazine:

“Everything that happened happened the last 15 minutes into the fight. There were a lot of things that went on. There are a lot of things that I don’t even want to talk about at this moment in time. I’m still reflecting on certain things. And I can’t believe the things that happened happened to me at that point in time in my career. Maybe I’ll come out with some things later on as things unfold and I get into camp.

“It’s easy to understand what type of person Deontay Wilder was in that moment in time. Even when I took off the mask, the things that I was doing … I’ve been in this sport a very long time, and people that have seen me fight all over the world for a very long time, so people automatically know how I am, and how I seemed okay.

“People that know boxing know that wasn’t Deontay Wilder that night. I can’t talk about a lot of things. But that wasn’t Deontay Wilder that night. You could see from the mask and my reaction, and certain things that I was doing in the ring from the first fight to the second fight.

“You don’t go backwards, you more forwards, and that night, I wasn’t myself. There’s a lot of things I can’t say. We can only get stronger and learn from situation and get better. In my eyes, I don’t see Fury as a champion. It’s still going. He ain’t the champion yet. We still got one more fight left.

“There’s going to be a time and place when I’ll come out. Looking at the fight, (Fury) knows that wasn’t me. I know that wasn’t me. Everyone in boxing knows that wasn’t the real Deontay Wilder.

"I wasn’t there. From the first start, my whole body and everything. I’m not done yet. Everything is going to be alright. Trust me. This (third fight) is the last final straw right here, as I see it."

Did he really say that or was it not him?

There may be things going on that he can’t talk about, things that have lead him to say things about things that were going on but he can’t talk about them, maybe when he’s himself again he can talk about them then.

As it stands, he wasn’t himself and people know that so why did they take his belt because that wasn’t him in the ring so how could he have lost his belt if he wasn’t there. Fury isn’t the WBC Champion because how could he be, Deontay Wilder wasn’t in the ring because things that he can’t talk about were going on they’re things that Fury and everyone knows meant that wasn’t Deontay Wilder but he can’t talk more about those things yet.

    Anyway, the mask.....

Oh my god. He’s went from saying i won’t call myself lineal if I win’, ‘one face one name no excuses’, ‘I don’t make any excuses, I was pulled out early’

well if things were so bad going IN to the fight why were you crying about being pulled after things turned into a nightmare.

he’s quickly becoming my least favourite heavy ever. All the low key racism, saying he would smash iron mike, and now all these excuses.

Love or hate fury, fury has been a gent after both fights. Wilder is barking nonsense because he’s insecure and knows he can’t hang now.

I'm no fan of Wilder, but Jack Johnson definitely takes that cake. Wilder is probably #2, unless you're including the long list of psychos who ended up murdering, raping ect. although I don't think it's fair to lump anyone in with those freaks.

Brags about having the Bronze Bomber as an alternative ego for years, only to come up after his first loss ''that wasn't the real Deontay Wilder''...

What exactly were those "lots of things going on" exactly, Deontay? Oh you mean all those little shards of glass shattered all over the ring floor?

It’s him. Even back in 2012 when Wilder was at our gym for over a week he was one of the most stubborn and delusional fighters I’ve seen and I’ve watched a lot of fighters pass through over the years.

Wilder’s ego and unwillingness to listen and improve on his weaknesses eventually caught up with him and he can’t seem to accept it, but the reality is Fury completely neutralized him and made it look easy.

Also this quote didn’t age well. My trainer and also Malik Scott’s trainer Bernie Hopalian tried to stress to Wilder back in 2012 how efficient footwork and defense make all the difference in making midfight adjustments and also help you conserve energy. Fury wasn’t tired in the first fight or the rematch because his footwork is efficient while in both fights Wilder was sucking wind.

With Joshua he got the height, he got the power and in the heavyweight division you don’t need skills. In the heavyweight division you can eliminate skills from anybody, even including myself, I don’t need skills. I have power. You’re in the game once you’ve got that power, that equaliser that no matter what at any given time [you can use],” Wilder said.
