Thanks, but George highlighting Charles vs Walcott 3 made me doubt myself. See, I hadn't seen it in almost twenty years and I remembered it being much more action packed. I just watched 3 and 4 and they are okay, but they are more displays of skill than blood and guts like the other 19. Now, I'm thinking I need to rewatch some more Charles fights for a refresher. Like, did I mix it up with Marciano vs Charles 2? Was that the slugfest barn burner I vaguely remember loving? Or was I just amplifying what I saw all of those years ago with hero worship since I'm a fan of both guys and their moves are slick? Charles Walcott 3 is still a fun fight with a big payoff at the end, but it probably shouldn't be top 20. My memories of the other fights I recommended are a lot fresher.

But you don't have a problem with Garcia/Khan or Maidana/Broner? The thread title says favourite/best, which means It can be responded to with personel favourites. You might have a strange case of selective reading.

Still though you and George have the best lists by a large margin.

Chacon vs Limon is #1 for me, and Bobby would probably make my list at least 1 more time.

Really? I was really doubting my 5th placement. Do you pick a classic like Márquez/Vásquez? Do you get all hipster from the lower weights? Do you slide in a Heavyweight classic? A domestic tear up? How you do differentiate and pick between Márquez/Pacquiao and Barrera/Morales, do they belong above classics from 70s and 80s from Franklin or Boza?

I have a niggling feeling that Argüello/Pryor 1 belongs there.

It's just a hard list to make, I have one helluva task mixing up 100 fights.

The thing is, if that's your top 5 list and they are what you consider your 5 favorites, then it can't be improved upon. But reading these lists kinda subtly and sometimes not so subtly separates the hard core mother effers from big fans, big fans from fans, and fans from casuals.

I saw them, and if those were what you chose then they were the best possible. You and Ovids by far and away would be the top choices among the purists.

Just watched Elvir Muriqi vs Sam Ahmad, not the best or my favourite, but God damn. If you want mindless action? Instant shifts in momentum? A comeback KO? Bags of heart and toughness?
