I simple cant for the life of me understand how a pro boxer with any decent power would have 2 not one free shots and putting his whole body into the shot yet couldnt put the fighter to sleep was May really that featherfisted?

Fighters with decent power if they got even 1 free shot on the chin would knock the fighter out and put him to sleep for good 1 min let alone 2 hard free shots

    thoughts?

    1- floyd has brittle hands

2- ortiz milked it and wanted out anyways

3- a free shot but it’s happened before and boxers continued fine

Victor Ortiz, although he has been knocked down many times has never been knocked out unconscious. He probably had a decent chin. He suffered flash knocks often but was always fit to continue. Mental fortitude was his lacking weakness.

So, what about all the times Victor Ortiz was stopped? Look, how often was he gazing into the middle distance looking for a way out? When the ref said "Do you want to continue?" Ortiz just stares blankly and then the fight gets called off and Andre Berto was the winner.

I think in all of his stoppages.... He really could have continued had he been mentally stronger.

Another troll bait thread but il take bite.
Mayweather didnt KTFO Ortiz because you know **** all about boxing, especially tecnique.
Floyd landed the left hook with the open palm, not his knuckles. Makes a good sound on the heavybag, but carries little power.
And Floyd didnt put any weight behind the right hand. He already transitioned his weight but had not let his hand go. Meaning he put no real weight behind the punch.

Its still hilarious that people try to belittle Mayweather for his "lack of power", while the man clearly doesnt focus on punching hard(his brittle hands).

thats actually sad that a 5 foot 8 natural 147 can only hit hard at 130-135

He isn't naturally 147 though. He was naturally 130lbs.

Floyd has slightly above average power at 147. He didn't get many KOs at 147 because he never looked for the KO.

Ortiz was a big boy. I don't know how he made 140. Served his chin up to lots of fighters and never got put out cold. I don't think it's a secret Mayweather wasn't a finisher at 147. I guess once the "that's cheating" thing wore off you had to find a new way to deride Floyd. Admirable effort.

Was it above average power, or ATG timing? A shot is obviously amplified, power wise, ten fold if you walk onto it, and Mayweather is an ATG at walking people onto shots.

Yeah, the left hook was more of a "screw you" to Ortiz when the latter continued to try to apologize to Mayweather when the latter wanted to resume the action. It was really one punch that dropped Victor to the canvas, and even that shot, as you say, wasn't thrown with as much much intent and power as it could have been.

You could give any welter in history two free shots on Jose Luis Lopez's chin and they won't even wobble him, let alone put him over and that's a FACT, btw.
