    Your post below.
Ali said on many occasions that Marciano was the only past champion whom could defeat him, that, in a sense, implies that he regards Marciano as the #2 heavyweight champ.

    Remember saying this BS ?
"Ali, Frazier and Foreman all rated him as the #2, there was a special short on him where Kirk Douglas called him the greatest heavyweight champ ever"
You want a link? " The Greatest My Own Story" Muhammad Ali

That is what I said, when you quoted me

"Could", though you made it out as if I said "would". This argument ends here, I said could, no point dying on this hill, McVey.

I provided direct quotes from Foreman and Frazier calling Marciano the 2nd greatest heavyweight ever. I provided a quote of Ali calling Marciano, indirectly, the 2nd greatest h2h heavyweight

    Thank you

The people who bring up Marciano's limitations and flaws rarely ever denigrate his overall legacy though.

The reason we argue about Marciano so much is that his most fervent fans aren't content with him being an overachiever who beat the best heavyweights of his era despite his limitations. They need to believe that he would have beaten all but less than a handful of fighters who have ever lived. So they imagine away his shortcomings and they exaggerate his strengths. And they pretend that his accomplishments against the mostly undersized and aging elites of his day establishes a presumption that he would run through skilled bigger, younger heavies whose styles and attributes pose obvious disadvantages for him.

Because you exaggerate his physical disadvantages, he was one of the most raw and physically gifted heavyweight champions ever.

Also you guys frequently disparage his legacy.

Dunno about that. You'd expect him to have balance, co-ordination and speed for that.

He's tough as an ox, as hard a worker as they come, and hits like a mule, but you're exaggerating.
