In a new interview, Arum said that Crawford beats prime Manny Pacquiao:

"I think Crawford is an elite welterweight and a skillset that transcends the skillset of Manny Pacquiao. I would go with 'Bud' Crawford. But that would be certainly in their primes, in Pacquiao's prime and Crawford's in his prime now, that would have been an amazing fight to watch."

We know that Bob's got his promoter hat on, but who would you pick?

Let's go with 2009—2012 Pacquiao versus present day Crawford.

I think Pac is the greater fighter and will certainly be viewed better career vs career, but I think Bud stylistically could be a nightmare for Pac, worse even than JMM or Floyd. Nobody ever easily beats Pac, but I think Bud comes closest to doing that. He is a master counterpuncher with fast feet and hands, great movement and fluid, switch-hitting, great length, deadly precision with excellent timing......... I'd go with Crawford but would not put my money on either, it could go either way.

Let's be honest, though — Bud's resume is sorely lacking. Prime Pac would run through Bud's resume and leave a brutal trail of KO victims. Burns, Jean, Benevidez, Khan, Postol, Molina, Diaz, Indongo, Horn, and Kava don't see the 8th round. Tiny ass Gamboa rocked Crawford to the core. And judging by the way slow ass and basic Kava was lighting Bud up (even dropping him), I'll go with Pac by KO.

Can't see past Pacquiao. Manny in his pomp was legitimately great, Crawford is only a very good fighter in my book. Never bought into the idea that any fighter with a pair of legs and some decent counterpunching can beat Pacquiao, either. Bud might give him a good go for a little while, but he'd be overwhelmed into survival mode by the scheduled halfway point.

If arum even believed that a little bit at all, he would have fed Pac to Crawford. But he couldn’t, he was waiting and waiting until Pac gets older and it’s a definite win for Crawford. But Horn crashed that party.

Pac is a legend and an icon. He still generates huge bucks when he fights.

Look at it as a business and not as a sport. You don't feed Pacman to anybody. You put him in competitive, credible fights you think he can win and you milk that situation until Manny doesn't want to fight anymore.

You keep him away from Crawford who has the potential to badly hurt or embarrass Manny at this stage in his career.

Pac wanted to fight both Lomachenko and Crawford. Arum was willing to feed Lomachenko to Pacquiao, but not Crawford. Arum admitted that he killed the Pacquiao fight, but with the laughable reason being that he cared too much about Pacquiao's health.

Loma is much smaller than Crawford. He might outbound Pac at this point but he is very unlikely to hurt him.

Crawford, with his size, could potentially put a hurting on the aged Pac.

    That's my take.

You can compare Pacquiao vs Horn with Crawford vs Horn to see the different results.
