I cringe thinking about Williams teeing off on a helpless Norton against the ropes. That triple left hook would spell lights out for Kenny (if he's still standing after the first 2 of course).

Aside from the usual "Kenny would freeze up" how did you expect this to go yourself? i personally see this as close due to the gulf in skill then again the gulf in skill was wide in Shavers and Norton and the result was brutal power being his undoing.

That's how I see this going and it doesn't help Norton that Williams was superior to Shavers.

We all saw what happened to Norton when he faced Shavers,Cooney and Foreman!Marciano,Williams and Liston would do the same!
Also there was a talk about Lyle vs Norton but Norton quit offer!Lyle would beat him too!

It's close fight and only because Williams was strong enough to back up Norton. He had a right style to beat Ken, but Norton would still have just as much chance of outboxing him and stopping with brutal bodyshots.

Norton's durability isn't nearly as bad as some claim here.

Norton's durability was good in that he could take accumulative and consistent damage well but unable to handle raw, heavy handed, powerful punches. Unfortunately for him, Williams represents the latter.

I don't know but it is a dangerous fight for Norton for sure. If we are talking about prime vs prime of course, Norton let's say in 1971 or 72 would stop the shot version of williams

Norton had the better chin. Or at least as good.
