I guess they could give him instead a fight vs regular champ Char, interim champ Bryan for regular title, gold champ Helenius for regular title or even with super champ Joshua instead. I think he will be happy as long as the money is big enough and title is on the line

Or they could just stir the cluster **** more and give him fight for vacated regular title against someone else.

But I think interim should have shot for that and their rules dont really explain what gold champ is, but when Helenius was fighting Kownacki it was suppose to be for mandatory position so you would think one of those guys would get shot for vacated title.

Yes, the finale is correct, but they did initially declare bankruptcy (a dick move to protect themselves) and then Rocchigiani settled, to be fair as a way of getting more money, which I understand, his expenses were probably very high.

    They got away with it...

After 6 years inactivity, I think he’ll get an undisclosed settlement from the WBA and just stay retired.

Mabe but i have got to say that this dude mastered the art of staying on the wba payroll for quite some time. I bet he got more money than most in the wba ranking at that time with his feet up on the couch. Its mind blowing this guy truly deserves a big movie alone on this. Im serious fres had no intention to get in that ring anymore but kept getting paid very good

    Boxings longest saga,
    Is reaching its crescendo,
    Finally we get to see,
    The return of Fres Oquendo,
It's took a century or so,
    And now we finally might,
    Finally leave the courtroom,
    And even see a fight,
After so long just what we seek,
    Is merely the slightest sign,
That fearless Fres has only aged,
    As would the finest wine,
Can he turn the clock right back,
    Well who can really say,
One thing on which you may agree,
    Is **** the wba,

How is paying a settlement what Rocchigiani agreed on getting away with it?

Thank you sir, that's kind of you.

Tis true that I was once a wordsmith for hire. That was before the tragic incident of the misplaced comma and the unfortunate chain of events that flowed from that terrible day.

These days I journey from town to town. Wandering the backwaters of this wild land. Mayhap I'll happen upon some poor put upon country folk, the victims of gangsters and ruffians. Then I reach into my battered old knapsack and remove my trusty quill and write them a very stern letter that puts those miscreants straight.

I never stay for the heartfelt thanks of the grateful yokels. No, for already the road has beckoned unto me and I must answer it's call. Maybe tomorrow I'll learn to settle down. Until tomorrrow I'll just keep moving on.

WBA (regular) is not a world championship title.

Well you (and me for that mater) might not count it, but in records books it would show as WBA World Heavyweight championship win and surpass Foremans oldest man to win world title championship record.

One would always have to explain details why Foremans WBA heavyweight championship is actually worth more and why record books shouldnt count Oquendos WBA heavyweight championship cause that time there was a WBA super heavyweight champion in the division

Because it was a nominal amount, not the $31 Million they actually owed him in law.
