Have to agree with this. Joyce did not look good at all against a shot to hell Stiverne, eating waaay too many right hands. Dubois is not exactly a lightning bolt himself, but faster than Joyce nevertheless. I wouldn’t bet my house on Dubios though, he is still very green. Good fight, could be a barn burner!
I wouldn't say talent beats experience, Joyce started boxing in his 20s I've heard, he has very little experience for his age
Joyce would have won if the fight went through, now that DDD has more time I’d favor him .Joyce has the better stamina and chin without question along with boxing abilities. DDD has the slight power advantage and is better defensively, if he can explode in spurts with the faster hands he can hurt Joyce enough to slow him down . I either see a Joyce win by knockout or DDD by UD . It’s basically a bigger experienced guy vs a quicker younger guy who needs to be at his best to win because Joyce doesn’t let up at all and DDD can’t afford to get caught early ,Joe is a great finisher if he has you hurt , both are good finishers but DDD is going to have to hit him a lot more then the other way around . I’d probably wait to see what they look like building up to it again but I’d take a slight favorite DDD .
But hes faced the best amateur competition in the world the the few years before he turned pro and has fought the much better competition as a pro.
The big thing to look for in the Joyce-Dubois fight is whether the size of one of their shoulders makes the other guy stop ala De La Hoya-Trinidad. We need Foreman to announce this.
I just don't get the whole Dubois thing. He looks like a big clumsy guy to me. Also I notice that they find these guys who have impressive records but pose no threat whatsoever, and they throw Dubois in there even though he has no chance of learning anything by whacking them out of there. Maybe a couple of y'all can tell me the fight looked most impressive in and what he did well that I am not seeing, and I'll watch it on Youtube and and see what I see.
I'm just calling it as I see it - I've watched all of Joyce's pro fights, and that's what I see when I watch him box.
