Louis was a better counter puncher than Jones because he ws always in position to counter, Jones was more cagey and defensive.
Look at where Roy`s lead hand is in his fights and how far away his lead is from his opponents head, Louis`s hand is far closer to his opponet ready to strike as soon as they punch which may also account for why Joe missed so many counter hooks compared to Roy he threw more because Roy was usually moving backwards.
