Bellews on the Sky payroll so no great surprise him 'rooting' for AJ but, Joshua has been given a 1 in a 1000 chance by the vast majority of people on here of beating Fury in a unification fight which I find a little strange. Granted, I've been an AJ fan since before the Olympics but, I can fully appreciate Fury being the favourite and I have him beating Joshua on both fighters last performances. I just think that writing Joshua off entirely is a little fool hardy.

Fury has a history of making life difficult where as Joshua, barring Ruiz 1 (Miami training camp!) is the consummate professional and will know that he will have to be 100% to have any reasonable chance of victory. Also, Joshua has shown he can box to a plan and can change tactics during the course of a fight (Povetkin) if things aren't quite going to plan. I do beleive that a 100% fit and focused Joshua can maybe beat a70-80% Fury, although if Fury comes in peak form, Joshua has no more than a punchers chance.

It has certainly dumbed down in the last few years.

As you say if this was decided on their last performance then Fury would already be undisputed. It won't be though. Instead you will have two guys who have the tools to counter each other. Fury with the technical edge, Joshua with greater power but that questionable chin. Although I have Fury as favourite since he's proved his physical recovery I think this will be the toughest opponent either man ever faces. Which is exactly as it should be in a fight for all the marbles.

I would love this fight to take place in the UK. If it lives up to its billing it could well be the greatest night in British boxing history. Loads of sub plots as well with the clash of two promoters, their respective stables, the competing networks in the build-up. Imagine a Matchroom vs Queensbury undercard with everyone's arse on the line for one night.

Won't happen of course. Two years from now we'll be debating the third Wilder vs Pulev...

Lol I'd love to agree but let's be serious, Bellew would flatten him.

For sure but AJ isn't nowhere a thinking fighter - he is technically sound and throws punches with excellent form. But AJ is not a high IQ boxer like Fury, he is more a puncher then a pure boxer. He is very slow transitioning from offence to defence as well. Fury should be more then capable of nullifying AJ's power punching style easily IMO.

I never even read the BBC article. Thought I'd come on here for a laugh instead and see what was being said for the man who wants to be left alone.

I see Joshua as a live dog. But Fury is definitely the favorite.

    1) Fury took on one of his fellow big three in the division, and won. Joshua lost to an obese middle-of-the-pack guy. It just shows a difference in mentality.

    2) As good as Joshua is, there is no easy path to him winning. We have already seen Fury first getting up from Wilder's power punches, and then in the second fight, taking them flush. So extrapolate that out, and one wonders how Joshua, a guy who could not knock out Parker, and even struggled with Takam, is going to dent Fury. So what then? He obviously is not going to go boxer like against Ruiz, because he loses that 10 times out of 10. He really has to be masterful to find a path here, and it is Fury who has the talent to infight, jab from the outside, fight orthodox, switch up, turn puncher, etc.

No disrespect to Joshua, who I think is great, but he is going to have to go up a couple of levels to beat Fury. Imo.

Was happy when bellew beat haye.

now I can’t stand bellew and My opinion has totally changed on haye.

Haye actually speaks his mind, he didn’t tow the line in front of John fury when he predicted wilder would win 2. His commentary during the fight was fantastic, he’s a reformed character.

bellew is irritating. I don’t know who’s worse, bellew or froch. Probably bellew because froch could back up his talk

genuinely think AJ has the best shot, but I can see him gassing badly.
What weight does he come in? Try to box fury light? Bad idea. Come in heavy and risk gassing?

funny how fat fury’s cardio is so much better than AJs

He should come in low 240's he's fine at that weight it's when he's 250 that his stamina gets shitty. 230s is too light for him also.

Yep. At least Haye wasn't a nodding dog, he had his prediction and stuck with it (which was many people's predictions anyway).

Then fronted up afterwards and said he got it wrong and gave Fury all the praise in the world.
