Plateaued? Look at the level he’s been fighting at only 16 fights in. It’s incredible. - prog - postal (very underated win) - baranchyk who is world level - stopped Vasquez - stopped Davies - stopped undefeated Martin - 7th fight he battered Dave Ryan who’s no mug, Ryan has beaten Paul mccloskey, Tyrone nurse, Hamilton etc. won the ali trophy won the wba and ibf - in 16 fights of course performances will start to plateau as he’s facing elite level competition. If he has achieved all this in 16 fights in his 20s he still has another gear to go up
I know it sounds like I'm having a go but I'm really not. I genuinely rate Taylor very highly indeed its just that I get the sense that we may have already seen his best days. To me he looks drained at 140 and should he move up to 147 which I suspect he will soon have to especially given the current hold up with the sport, it will be a whole different ball game and his style of fighting won't have the same impact. I hope I'm very wrong and he goes on to unify, move up and clear up. I just get the sense it's not going to happen.
I would take Taylor, I'm not convinced Khan can take that bodywork, pressure and inside work. I could see it being similar to the Lamont Peterson fight in a sense, but Taylor having more success than Peterson.
yep seriously impressive resume in 16 fights and will look better in time if prograis and baranchyk go on to do well.
Welterweight is seriously in need of new blood.all the top fighters are getting long in the tooth and its run by the pbc who are taking the mick with in house recycled trash.
I think its a rather talented division tbh. Spence, Crawford, pac, Porter, Thurman, both Garcia’s etc
Yeah it's top heavy but weve already seen lots of these fights.might be just me m8 but the only fights I want to see are pac v spence/crawford or spence v crawford.Hopefully in a couple years we will have Ramirez,Taylor, vergil Ortiz, prograis up there to shake things up a bit.
