Most cruiserweights on fightnight come in around 210 lbs. Luis when his body matured usually showed up around 202-205 lbs. As he reached his 30’s his weight varied, since he was 220+ for many of his exhibitions.

Joe Louis was 221 lbs when he had an exhibition with Elmer Ray

Joe Louis around 230 lbs in his exhibition with Johnny Shkor.

Also, Luis started as a pro at 20 years old, so that has to be factored in. Usyk at 20 years old if I remember correctly was a light heavyweight. Usyk at 33 years old showed up at 215 lbs. Luis at 33 years old was around 212 lbs and having met Usyk he isn’t 6’3”, but closer to 6’1”, so him and Luis are around the same size.

While Max had a great physique he was never considered that big of a man back then considering guys like Primo Carnera, Jack Pettifer, Roy Clarke, Bill Hartwell, Victorio Campolo, and other huge guys were around.

    Marco Huck at 209 lbs

Joe Frazier started the Olympics at 196lb and was trimmed pretty well at 205. Which makes him a modern Cruiserweight.

That said, his give and take style, as some here describe as mauling, would not go very well in the 90s until today fighting 228lb strong punching fellows.

The truth hurts I guess. You should visit gyms more often. You’d learn a lot. The former head trainer at my old gym the fight factory used to be Ruiz’s trainer, so I used to see Ruiz spar daily. Also, Sakio Bika is a complete beast and probably made more money as a sparring partner than he did as a fighter, since big Chris Arreola and Gassiev also used him.

Toney was a fat and sloppy middleweight yet none of the heavyweights ran over him. Also, Edison Miranda, who had a lot of trouble with the best super middleweights and light heavyweights took everything Dortico’s could dish out even when he was old and out of shape.

Another thing to remember is that fighters don’t decide what division they fight in their handlers do. (Exceptions being megastars like PAC, Mayweather, etc..). Bektemirov most likely would’ve made a very good cruiserweight and even a good heavyweight, but the person that financially backs you gets to make that decision and sometimes they make the wrong decision.

no one forces a natural light weight to fight at lwh stop making things up. And no sakio bika didnt earn more from sparring then actual fights.

usyk is 6 3 what are you talking about. He was taller then huck and briedis who are booth listed as over 6,1 and above and was the same height as gassiev who is also 6 3. what are you talking about. Whiterspoon is listed 6 4 and usyk is slighty shorter then him. Why do you make stuff up.
Also you guys need to understand that weight also needs to be looked at in combination with body weight. Louis is a fat potato compared to usyk who comes in crisp and below 10 when fighting cw.

This seems like a description of a spar, from someone who has never had a spar.

Where the **** are you finding 6'6 260lb men?
According to you someone with those dimensions is automatically a top heavyweight, why was he sparring some punk like you?

dude do you live in some south east asian country with people with man beeing 5 on average.
You also seem to not believe that their are 16 year olds bigger then frazier.
I live in germany where people tend to be the tallest together with swiss and Netherlands and i am 6‘1.
i asked for the spar because i wanted go see if i can beat a heavyweight i used to spar guys that where around 6 3 but never someone taller then that.
He sucked thats the thing if he would have fought someone the same size or if i was 20 pounds heavier and 3 inches taller i would have beaten him.
I had 10 fights and i could spar guys that had 100 amateur fight and i would beat them just cause i was bigger.

    Nah mate I'm staunch.
Like 15 ft tall, I'm the next breed of SHW.

What a ridiculous thing to say, never have I bragged about what I can do, or ever shared gym stories on this forum, I think it's proper distasteful to talk like that to people you don't know.
People don't look at their screen and go
"He said he's been in the gym he must be tough."
    They think.
"Why is this sad little man trying to impress me?"

Boxing doesn’t work that way. Somebody has to put money behind him first for Bika to make the jump to heavyweight and secure matches with the top names in the division. Despite Bika’s in-ring ability he isn’t a ticket seller like Hatton or Canelo, who have a loyal fanbase of paying fans, so there is little reason to put money behind him.

Listen to Chris Byrd talk about how hard it was to get his career going and how he became a heavyweight because that was the only opportunity on the table. Despite Byrd’s amazing ability he was never going to be a ticket seller, so many promoters passed on him.

In many ways Bika would most likely not even be considered worth the risk. He’s very durable, has an annoying style, and brings no money. Neither Archie Moore or Jersey Joe Walcott were lacking in ability, but for years they couldn’t land money fights until they got powerful financial backing.

Even Fury after he won the title from Wlad laughed at the idea of fighting Ortiz when asked, since Ortiz despite his ability has virtually no fanbase or a powerful investor behind him, so Fury said Ortiz wasn’t worth the risk and there were other guys he could make more money against.

Since there was the dom hw on that was 6,3 since the 90s.
Wait there is a video of me on yt fighting in my teens i will try to find it. But nothing guaranteed.

yeah a lot of the stuff is true you say, but come on bika started as a middle weight, while byrd went straight into lhw. Thats a big difference.
And of course the temptation is big to jump directly into hw cause nobodys cares about cw in terms of money.
