I almost don't even care who wins. Who takes it?

I'd be rooting for Marv, but Yaqui's stamina and endurance probably takes it late.

It'd be an unholy fight, though.

Marvin on class above Yaqui, but it would be a WAR. I think Johnson late TKO by cuts

I think Yaqui may look like the loser but I think he would outlast Johnson as Marvin gassed late in the fight.

    Lopez.

He was a bit more versatile. If he can take Johnson to the late rounds he can beat him.

Too bad he didn't get a shot at him rather than the trio of prime Galindez, Conteh and Saad.

Marv felt good against tall boxers with solid jabs. But how would Yaqui feel against that consistent pressing from hard puncher?

I hope your right, but Marv blew his load quick if he couldn't get the KO. After 8 rounds or so, he'd probably be a sitting duck for another few rounds get stopped late.

Hmm, VS Galindez he lost all rounds and then took 10 and in 11 KOed argie. But I agree that he usually showed normal stamina at 10 round fights (Parlov, J Davis, Williams)

You fought he lost all rounds vs Galíndez? Iirc I had him up.

I get your point, though. He paced himself well vs Galíndez.

It's hard for me to believe that they didn't fight in real life.

Very even match-up. Both of them were just a half-notch below the other greats of that era, imo. I think I might go with Lopez to weather the storm.

Full disclosure.....when I thought of this one I had to double- check to make sure they hadn't.

Had to make sure, but what a slugfest this would be.
