Great post! Ward looks to have taken minimal damage and he hopefully doesn't need money. To look at him, his face isn't damaged, he doesn't look like a fighter. I had a trainer who fought all over in the 50s-60s. He said he often didn't see his opponent until the weigh in. He said he always hoped the opponent was "scary looking", busted up nose, scar tissue, ears, etc., he said that was the type he knew had been getting hit and he could hit them too. He said the guys who worried him were the "pretty" fighters, guys who were unmarked. They weren't getting hit.
If Ward had fought Bieterbiev, the excuse would have been, AB was green. Up until the fight is penned, Ward is scared and will never fight the beast. LOL
People really hate on Ward I know he is boring as hell and almost unwatchable but given his lack of physical gifts the man can box. The only fight I cared to watch was his Kovalev rematch because I knew he was going to take him apart this time & probably stop him.
How would that fight even be possible? And yeah I'm not a fan of Ward but I would like to have seen him against the LHWs we have now
Do any American fighters sell? Last time I checked Crawford is still locked under Bob Arum's desk gathering dust whilst Fury takes Arum shopping for handbags.
The only thing Ward ruined with his blatant dirty tactics was probably denying Kovalev the chance of ever having fathering another child after the way he bombarded Kov's testes all fight long while ref Tony Weeks just watched. was diabolical
He shouldn't come back. I would have liked to see him fight other guys at his peak but not after this layoff.
