The Michalczewski that beat Hill beats Froch by wide margin, but the Michalczewski that beat Hall would be a war similar to the Hall fights with Froch having a good chance at pulling it off. Michalczewski aged and deteriorated over his title reign although he was still dangerous and fun to watch all the way to the end. He was shot by the time Julio Gonzales defeated him.The Michalczewski that beat Hill was the one that would have a shot at the untouchable Roy Jones.
I have to go with Michalczewski here especially since Froch's strength at 168 likely won't translate to 175 against Michalczewski. Both guys were always in tip top shape when they fought but Froch I believe would be in with a guy that is physically stronger than him for the first time in his career. He would do his best to try and make it ugly and fight Michalczewski on the inside where Michalczewski was not strong but I don't see him being able to do that successfully. One thing I always found odd about Michalczewski is he only had a 70" reach which is pretty short for 6'0 almost 6'1 fighter that liked space when he fought. 70" is the reach you would find on a lot of guy's in the 5'9/5'8 range. He certainly was able to make it work for him.
I noticed his arms looked short when watching highlights of him awhile back so I looked it up on BoxRec and sure enough his reach is listed at 70". Hearns was maybe a half inch taller and had a 78" reach. I would say 76" is probably the average for 175. Hell, Marvin Hagler was 5'9 and had a 75" reach.
As far as I know, Froch never fought at 175. He was a tough, tough man, but was dropped by natural middleweight Taylor. I don't think he's going to deal well with tough hard punching lightheavies like Darius
Agree. Dariusz ( however his name is spelled ) was a better than average light heavyweight who fought his whole career in that division, beat numerous contenders and reached 48-0 before he was finally beaten. I think he’d be a handful for most 175 lb men let alone Froch
Ya. Froch was a tough 168 pounder. Darius (I could never get the spelling right, forget about the last name lol) was a tough 175 pounder.
Don't really understand why the OP is making a fight for Froch at Light Heavy. He never fought in that division.
