He has the clear best win of the 2000s. Barrera I is without doubt the most impressive performance of the era. He ran right over an ATG at 29. The last performance I think we have witnessed on that level was Jones Jr. against James Toney. Also you could make a good argument his fight against Cotto was the 2nd greatest performance of that era, especially when considering how many weight classes he climbed. Cotto himself is not an ATG, but he was a very good fighter. Combined with his size advantage it was amazing what Pac did to him. And he was only 27.

It’s harder than it first appears to do direct comparisons, especially as you have to take into account their age at the time etc.

I’ll just make a few points:

There’s no way the Cotto wins are equal.

Manny beat Cotto up over 3 years earlier when he was fresher.

    Manny’s win is superior.

The Bradley win and the Corrales wins were both great. But they’re hard to compare, as Floyd was young and Manny was old. Due to his age and number of fights, you could say the Bradley win was better.

Even though Shane had beaten Marg beforehand, he was faded when Floyd fought him. Whereas Manny was 40 when he beat a young, undefeated Thurman.

    Great post.

I don’t agree regarding the Oscar fight though.

True. But Floyd faced the better version.

I always thought the Thurman win would be more comparable to the Nelo win, not saying it's as quality, but you got two older fighters beating two younger undefeated fighters. You can argue Thurman isn't as good as Nelo in hindsight but he does have wins over Porter (which is Spence's best win by a longshot and a reason he even deserves to be ranked as high in the p4p rankings) and Danny. Mayweather put on a schooling against Canelo but Pac dropped and hurt the bigger Thurman despite being past 40. Would Pac have to beat Spence or Crawford to have a better win than Mayweather's Nelo in his twilight years?

If Manny clearly beat Spence or Crawford now at 41, it would easily surpass Floyd’s win over Canelo.

Floyd has a great win over Canelo due to his age, but the C-W taints the win, and Canelo showed him far too respect, which the more mature version of him never would have.

I see you’re still kidding yourself regarding the testing.

    You’ll never change.

Crawford yeah, I feel like everyone would just say that Spence is wrecked from the car accident if he beats him.

The guy claimed that Floyd worked out after the weigh-in resulting in severe dehydration.

He never came back to that other thread from last month.

The only answer these guys can offer up, is:

“Bob Bennett said everything was okay”

    Ha!

    Hilarious.

Poor old Bob was in the dark with the rest of us.

He didn’t know what had happened until USADA informed him three weeks after the fight.

    You couldn’t make it up.

And then we have USADA, with their in house judicial system, who only test one sample, who don’t notify commissions, who only produce summaries and who work for the guys who hire them.

A body who has only caught ONE fighter, but who let him fight anyway, without informing anyone that he was dirty.

    What a joke.

Only a moron would accuse Manny of being dirty, whilst turning a blind eye to Floyd’s illegal IV which he had in secret on his sofa.

We have all the facts we need.

    What he did.

    The volume he used.

USADA not following their own guidelines and reporting it etc.

    It reeks.

    You know it does.

Nobody gets a retroactive TUE, 3 weeks after the fight, and nobody stipulates that it has to be in the contract either.

    It was a joke.
