Your favorite/best up and coming heavyweights

Im going with Dubois (Obviously) and Efe Ajagba.

Weird how only 5 years ago Whyte and AJ were up and coming... Time sure does fly.

To be honest, don't have one. Maybe Kossobutskiy because I like unheralded tough guys. Not saying it is a bad crop--there are so many I have to believe that a good number will improve or just prove me wrong. But none of the big names are knocking my socks off.


Dubois- I don't see it at all. Looks pretty easy to hit and basic. Not even that hard-hitting for his size.

Joyce- Haven't really scrutinized him closely but I understand that he is stiff and mechanical, and at his age isn't going to get much better.

Hrgovic- we were oversold. Not as hard hitting as stated and seems to have concentration problems. Recently turned down a good fight.

Yoko- PEDS problems already, chinny, probably too frail for the pros.

Dychko- Is this guy still fighting anymore?

Mehzhidov- Should have turned pro 5-10 years ago. Going to be another Clay-Bey.

Sirenko- No gauge. Hasn't fought anyone worth a damn.

Jalolov- Is he even still fighting?

Tischenko- went down to cruiser because he had no power at heavy.

Nistor- going to be too small.

Milas- Looked at him on youtube and nothing special.

Makhmudov- I hope this guy works out but he looks pretty basic and free-swinging.

Fa- very good gatekeeper. Nothing more.

etc. etc.

 

Daniel Dubois.

Still a baby but my money is on him going all the way.

 

Frank Sanchez seem like he'll be a good contender going forward. One of the few Cuban fighters that's still young coming into the pro game. He's aggressive and has good boxing skills. Also trains with the Reynosos.

 

This one might be a bit left field but, I actually quite like the look of Fabio Wardley. He's fought absolutely no one but, he's a good mover for a guy of 6'5", has decent pop, a good jab and is still young at 25.

He may turn out to be just another can crusher (Wilder) who fails as soon as he steps up his competition. I just think he may bring something a little different to the domestic scene. Very little amateur experience if any but, obviously naturally gifted.

 

There's talent, but we'll have to see how it all pans out and develops.
Some of the best are people such as Hrgovic, Dubois, Makhmudov, Jalolov and also Guido Vianello. I've not seen Frank Sanchez, but he might turn out to be good.

Not sure about Ajagba, he could be anything. Yoko, meh. Medzhidov should have turned pro earlier. He made the choice to stick with the ams. Disappointed in Dychko so far and Sirenko has met no-one of note.

 

Hrgovic, Makhmudov and Majidov are my picks for the best and most talented, if we exclude Usyk from this discussion.

Don't really have a preference, the guys I like are mostly established or on their way out.

 

Makhmudov.

 

Makhmudov, Vhykhrst, Dubois, Sirenko & Hrgovic are amongst my favourites.

 

Makhmudov is a beast! Even if he's not the most skilled his chin, (well proved in the ams against numerous top fighters) his devastating power and physical presence can make him a kind of heavyweight Margarito but with more power. Marg was often outboxed but his sheer pressure and granite chin often lead him to victory and enabled him to become world champ. I think Makhmudov can reach similar level or even better bwcause it will take a masterful boxer not doing a single mistake to beat him.

Nothing else really excites me

 

Dubois has by far the highest ceiling.

 

Hmmm. Everyone seems unsure or mentions the same heavyweights we all agree on. Maybe the HW era of the 2020s is slowly declining. Especially after all the top HWs finish fighting eachother. (If they ever do)

 

I'm interested by Jalolov. Would love to see a 6'7 southpaw who can crack and box.

To the person who asked if he was still fighting, he had 3 amateur bouts earlier this year. He was working towards the Olympics still where Hrgovic was said to also be competing.
