His left hook pre-Steward was a very impressive punch. It's one of the areas of his game that notably depreciated after working with Steward.

People on here need to do such a serious reality check.

From a true technical perspective no. Tysons left hook is way more technical. is shorter and more versatile.
But the thing is tyson is a small midget compared to klitschko and therefore it is way easier to do such a technical left hook.
So since wlad weights 245 clean at 6‘6 his not so technical hook is more powerful, rangier and therefor more useful then tysons and therefor better.

He was effective with it all his career long but surprise surprise it all the sudden stopped working when he fast guys that were taller or same height as him.

You just disqualified yourself by saying that a 6‘6 man at 245 lbs should use a left liver hook. Like for real going to the body is only usefull in very specific situations when you are that tall. Sniping from range like fury, wlad and wilder is simply the name of the game.

And here you prove why Fury is the GOAT because even at 6'9" he can go to the body against any men of any size.....and probably the only true power punch Fury can leverage his weight behind whilst stationary is his left hook to the body. Even his overhand right he has to get his momentum going forwards to put heavy power on it.

If Wlad was any good he could have exploited the body of any of his opponents in the so called specific situations you talk about.

Oh come on. Fury did this 2 times excessively one time when he mauled cunningham what was a valid strat given his size advantage and the second one was in the second wilder fight where he started to go to the body after he had wilder down and wilder wasnt stable on his legs anymore.
To me fury really operates on another level because he has so many tools but the truth is he just prefers to stay the hell outside and dance his way to victory.

Wlad's left hook is indeed atomic.

Wlad might be the best overall puncher at HW.

He's top 3 with the jab, top 3 with the right cross, top 3 with the left hook, had a deadly uppercut when he threw one.

    Wlad's arsenal is phenomenal.

Clever shot isn't it, some weight/power behind it

A 6"6 guy who boxes from the outside throwing left hooks to the liver of 6"1 opponents?

Often does with left hookers. Particularly converted southpaws.

If he stuck with his jab and move style, back in the 80s, and incorporated his 'Smash' into it, he'd have been a real force. When he started plodding he became a sitting duck in a division full of killers. Absolutely stupid move on his part.

I remember during his jab and move style period (before he started knocking dudes out), I remember thinking he could go all the way. very very fast jab and fairly powerful too, the dude just abandoned it after he started KOing dudes, always wondered.

I met Razor one time in airport, all I could focus on was how big his hands are and if Blizzy's mum was nearby.

That wouldn't be Wlad's exemplary hooking performance. (that's Ray Austin, in which Klitshcko for AFAIK the only time in his career battered an opponent into submission with pretty much exclusively hooks)

Weird how he lost all traces of footspeed too. He went from respectably fleet footed, to one of the slowest fighters I've ever seen.

Taken in isolation and in line with the OP's criteria, I haven't seen a better left hook on a Heavyweight than Henry Cooper's .
