ATGs with bad chins

Luis Rodriguez wasn't glass chinned of anything, but his chin was probably his biggest weakness. Similar with Benítez.

 

Rodriguez had a rock for a chin. I wouldn’t hold the stoppage in Cokes III against him as he couldn’t make weight anymore and the Benvenuti KO is a perfect punch against an old fighter. Rodriguez was granite jawed.

 

Roy took punches fine for the first 16 years of his career. Goes up to heavyweight, and depletes his body by coming back down, gets KO'd, and has a bad chin? No. Jones in his prime had a solid chin. Was it ever great? I doubt it. But he wasnt glass chinned. There was one point Toney hit him with a flush right hand right on the button and Jones didnt flinch.

The first guy who comes to mind is Norris, but he's not an ATG so he doesnt really quality.

That's what I mean, no way was he packing glass, but the only where you beating him cleanly is a stoppage.

 

I hate Lewis, but I wouldn't say he had "bad" chin per say.

Some might say Terry Norris is not an ATG but I think he is. His chin was his downfall.

It literally even says in that very report that Dempsey took a dive for $500.

 

That's the sole reason you think his chin was poor? You must be aware that the fight was likely fixed right? Even if that's not the case, he was a novice. Not only was that his only KO loss ever, but he also returned the favor knocking out Flynn in 1 round. He was never close to being stopped again. I think it's safe to say that was an anomaly. I'm not even a fan of Dempsey's but all one has to do is look at his bout with Firpo to see the alleged chin issues are bollocks!
