We did a middleweight version of this last month and got some great answers. For this weight I think Foster is hard to look past. I'm not sure if Galindez was muscle or fat but he was incredibly strong too. Thoughts?

My vote would be Moore. I dont see Foster as a particularly strong LHW frankly. Moore was very powerfully built and hung in there with heavyweights in a way Foster couldnt, largely because Foster wasnt that physically strong.

Archie moore would have been destroyed equal against 70s hws like Joe Frazier. Being more compact or muscular have nothing to do with being stronger. Carlos Monzón looked a skinny long guy compared with Hagler who was shorter and more muscular but the Carlos Frame was bigger than marvin's , Carlos was clearly the stronger man.
there are lanky people with enormous strength in the tendons

Beterbeiv and Qawi are the two which came to mind when I read the title, but both have been mentioned.

Foster has lank, but he wasn't ever the type to force people back with his legs, he just walked them down and jabbed them back. I think Moore is definitely the stronger of the two.

    Bivins was really strong.

Freddie Mills was meant to be Bull Strong and GOD knows plenty durable, Woodcock X 2 and Big Joe Baksi. that's a tough nut to absorb beatings like that!

    Qawi surely?

Galindez was certainly IMO, one of the strongest light heavy champs.

This is a fact...and throughout his reign as middleweight champion, it was noted that Monzon was one of the strongest champs despite his lean, gaunt appearance.

The problem is that Foster lost to far worse heavyweights than Frazier. Moore beat many heavyweights and most of them were much bigger than him.
