When Will Robberies & Fixed Fights Finally End In Boxing?

Human evolution will evolve to the point where there are no sexes, only one gender, 1 race and 1 creed. There will bo no more need for money and the nations of the world will have coalesced into one giant Utopian society where every one is deemed to be equal. There will be no more war and no fighting over natural resources.


In other words, never.

 

While you have 4 Sanctioned Bodies and Corrupt Promoters can not see it happening....Boxing needs to get control back.!!!

Going back to 15 rounds title fights will help as invariably those last 3 rounds tend to be decisive.

There is a way to almost stop it completely. It wouldn't stop a fighter taking a dive, but this is the least common corruption anyway.

The way to stop corrupt judges and refs is very simple, you fight until one fighter cannot make the count or the corner stops it.

This way judges have no effect and the ref cannot cause an early stoppage or take points off unfairly. They could possibly allow fouls but Ward is retired so testicle KO's are unlikely.

Really it's that simple to remove robberies, you make stoppages the only way to win. It would work because people can also be stopped basically on exhaustion or quitting, even if they aren't concussed. Someone will go down and not get up. And I doubt a fight would ever go over two hours. But if a fight went very long, like some tennis matches, it would make things even more epic.

Boxing unfortunately is BLATANTLY CORRUPT !! We all know it There is no one overseeing the State Commissions so they have carte blanche to do as they like. Until these is one International Commission governing the sport things will never alter. People know the corruption exists they know certain fighters will never be allowed to lose because they make the state too much $$$$$$$
As a life long boxing addict it breaks my heart to see the greatest sport in the world dragged down to the level of pro wrestling, which as we all know is purely entertainment . Not a legitimate sporting contest but ends with a pre arranged "winner"

You can’t please everyone so there will always be ‘robberies’ in boxing.

Boxing isn’t like 99% of other sports where the result is determined through some metric. You’ve got the subjective views of three judges - who may or may not be biased toward the home fighter / A side due to positive reinforcement (future work), so they score even rounds in favour of the champ who’s expected to get it.

Smith v Ryder is a good example: after the first 6 the judges would have given the first 5 to Smith, as he was doing just enough in their eyes to nick those early rounds although the fans were seeing a much more competitive fight than what the scorecards were suggesting.
