Every now and then we get fighters who start out on the small hall shows, that go on to be picked up by the big promoters.
These two lads have got what it takes to go on and get signed up on the bigger platforms one day I'm sure.
I'm curious to see if any other members can give us some names of small hall fighters we could earmark to keep an eye on their development as they come thru.
I know @Maley & @LoadedGlove go to their local shows a lot or so I remember reading. Maybe some more members can point some up n comers out for us.
Reece has already picked up the English title at 126. He put in a great performance to stop the experienced Sean davis within 4 rds.
Now i would of classed that fight more as a meaningful fight for Reece rather than a truly competative fight.,As Sean is a 122 fighter at competative level but Sean has fought at 126 and above a few times so he certainly wasn't out of his depth. Plus Sean had more experience. I would of also of liked to see it last a little longer as Reece can be a bit "all guns blazing" at times and had he had to push himself some more he would of had to start questioning himself, which would of done him the world of good when he goes onto harder fights. "Dragging" fighters up like this is a good example of good matchmaking imo by Reeces manager and promoter, Steve Wood. Who's developing Reece in the right way at the right time.
He's now mandatory for the British, against either the holder, Ryan Walsh or should Walsh give the belt up, he has to face Jordan gill. Now this is why I'd of liked to of seen Reece having to answer question about himself in the Davis fight cos I think, it'd of set him up even better, for whoever he should face in the British.
If he gets gill and it's on sky and beats him it could be his chance to get signed by Eddie. He's certainly capable of beating gill or Walsh for that matter.

Jack rafferty has a good boxing style he's well balanced and has good technique. He puts combinations together quite well and has decent hand speed. He's done a few 6rdrs now and has about 4 stoppages on his 'record out of about 10 fights.
I would expect him to make 140 at championship weight.
Ive seen Jack a few times now on the small halls and was at his last bout in Oldham each time I've seen me he's always impressed me and I'm sure that he's one of the small hall fighters that we will see on the tv in the near future.
Not quite as much to say about Jack as he's still in the learning fights but from what I've seen im confident that when his team "turn the screw" he will be ready to take the challenge.

As anyone else got fighters that the rest of us may be unaware of, from their local small halls. I know a few on here frequent there local boxing promotions from the area they live in.

Ive been to quite a lot of small halls in the past year and there's quite a few names I could put up as fighters I've enjoyed watching but Reece and Jack are the names I'm putting up as been the closest to making the jump to the t.v promoters.

It would be good to hear of any ones for us to watch coming from other forum members.

Ive just watched all of atanas fights. He's a big old lump that's for sure.
The all the fights except his debut u can't take much away from as they didn't offer anything up.
His debut is the only one that gives u any real info on him imo, as at least pavek came n give it a go.
He looks to have the east European amateur style as his foundation . And was attempting to keep his opponents at range. He was getting caught a bit with a right over top but I could tell that his coach pointed this out to him at the end of the 1st rd. He then made the necessary adjustments in the 2nd rd, which is a good sign. No doubt there was a bot of nerves as it was his debut and been able to process the necessary info under these conditions is a good sign.
Thanks for putting up your 'ones to watch
I'll definatly keep an eye on atana now, does seem that he could go on and do something g in the heavyweight division.
It's good to catch these fighters early on and get a sense of there development.
I'm going to look up Alfie price later today.

@DaManz84 was the freak trollboy Terry Tibbs' alt. He made it all up and kept it up for ages. you can see him talking to himself in the thread - ' I Will Unify da Cruiserweight and heavyweight division'.

Reece has recently earned his mandatory British title spot and was supposed to fight Jordan Gill for the vacant FW belt after Ryan Walsh was ordered to relinquish it but promised to be the first defence of the winner Mould vs Gill
However Jordan Gill has pulled out of negotiations and purse bids. No doubt he realised that Reece was a massive threat to his career and has opted for a different route.
I'm not too surprised tbh. Although I do rate Gill, Reece Mould is young, hungry can fight and can punch. It was going to be a tough fight for Gill and his team new it, therefore they've opted for a different route.
I was really hoping for this fight to be shown on Sky. It would of given Reece the ideal opportunity to introduce himself to a wider audience.
Reece will still kèep his spot and the board will nominate someone else now.
Gill has let himself down there but if he felt it wasn't the right career move for him, then I understand that. Coldwell would of no doubt recommended him not to take it but as fight fans we've missed out big time with this.

Gill missed the chance to be the 'man that broke the mould'

    For shame!

Gill is a year older and more experienced. After all the hyperbole from him and Coldwell, this is poor.

Harry Armstrong a new pro heavyweight seems to have some decent skills. Promoted by Steve Goodwin and trained by Don Charles
