What are some examples of fights that went 15 rounds in the good ol days, but if they were 12, like today, fighters would have lost and vice versa.12 rounders that would have had a different outcome if the fight went 15. The one that comes to mind is Lucian Bute vs Andrade. Bute was hurt badly in the final seconds of the fight, given an extra long time to recoup, then the bell rang. I believe Bute would have been stopped inside the first minute of the 13th if it was a 15 rounder.

Hearns would've got the decision against Leonard had it been a 12 rounder

Duran would have got a majority decision against Hagler if it was a twelve-rounder.

Have to account for guys adjusting their strategies/pacing if they know they have fewer rounds to work in.

All I know is that I want the sport to go back to 15 rounds fer championship bouts.

I think he means Jersey Joe going into the 13th.

The one that went into the 15th isn't the one Charles was ended in. Took Rocky two tries to get rid of him.

This. Guys wouldn’t be able to get away with massive weight cuts and heavyweights would need to start coming in lighter.

Whenever a guy I like gets started too late and ends up dropping a decision, I always like to quietly console myself with the idea that they'd have won if it were a 15 round bout. Williams-Margarito would be an example where that reflex kicked in. But it isn't necessarily the soundest of reflexes. Three extra rounds would make the difference in some matchups where it appeared a guy was getting on top late in a twelver, but it wouldn't always be so.

I just think 15 rounds is a real litmus test and the best value for the bloodthirsty fight degenerate (downside being that stinkers become even more interminable). I also like that it's not an even number of rounds, which is generally better for scoring, so I'd take a switch to 13 rounds from that point of view.

I often wonder about guys that gas around the 6th. How would these guys fair in a 15 rounder? Would they even be champ for long?

don't have anything to add, but they need to bring back 15 rounds for championship fights.
