Mike Tyson would beat Wilder right now with 6 weeks of training in 1 minute.

Joe Rogan thinks Mike is already ready to go 12!

Based on a 5 second clip. Joe sees and knows all.

My own observation. Ive ordered 30 PPVs in the past 8 years or so. Compared to fighters of the 70's and 80's they do not throw as many punches, do not fight at the same pace and they rarely fight on the inside.

Notable exceptions would be Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter (they fought at a breathtaking pace, it was a classic), Mayweather vs Maidana 1 (pure action), Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 (they were actually trying to knock each other out for once), Provodnikov vs Bradley.

But these are exceptions. The average fight nowadays you rarely see anyone throw more than 20 punches per round after the first 5 rounds. Clinching is a substitute for inside fighting. You don't see technical close range specialists like Chavez or Duran or Frazier anymore. You don't see back and forth wars like Holyfield vs Bowe or Cooper vs Moore. The 12th round is called the championship round because someone behind on the cards should go for broke and attempt a last minute KO or attempt to win the last round, but to some fighters this means stall by running or covering up. This is simple observation and I would be surprised if anyone disagreed.

I'd only agree as far as the HWs and that is quite possibly because they're bigger. And only post 90's at that. The 90's had some insanely high paced HW fights, as you say.

Otherwise, I think there's been plenty of high paced fighting this millenia. Vasquez-Marquez, Corrales-Castillo, Gatti-Ward, Morales-Barrera, Marquez-Barrera, Williams-Margarito are some high profile fights with a very high pace that immediately spring to mind outside those you mentioned.

None of those fights happened in this current era. I didn't say millennia or the early 2000's i mean the past 8-10 years. Every single one of those boxers you brought up are retired or way way past their prime. They were in a transitional era from the late 90's to early 00's.

You rarely see fights like those post 2010.

LOL Mike Tyson nearly 2 decades ago couldn't beat McBride, he's not getting past 3 rounds with anyone C level today.. there's a difference between hitting pads in a gym at 53 & a having a pro fight with a 30 yr old pro HW

Reminds me of the delusional Tyson fanboys who thought he'd comeback to dominate the sport after Lewis retired.

Tysons lungs will quickly remind him to get his old ass back behind the mic of his great podcast. 53 year old pot smokers arent built for this. He better get back to quarantine before he catch the Rona.

    This Australian is smoking crack

Let alone beat wilder or top heavyweights now, Tyson would get wrecked in his prime

Can you imagine Mike Tyson Vs Tyson Fury!?!?

What do we know about Mike Tyson, when the going gets tough, Mike gets quitting

How is 5'9" 212lb Tyson going to cope with Tyson Fury?

    6'9" 280lb of inside fighting-ness.

    212 lb Tyson ? You're an idiota.
Otherwise the prime Tyson would destroy this fat ass Fury easily.Tyson in his prime could humiliate tall
muscular world champions like Tucker or Smith and now you bring this ***** fury who can't build a masculine body.
Fat untrained bums' (Andy Ruiz and Fury) success proves how weak the heavyweight division nowadays.

As others pointed out, Tyson in or near his prime was the opposite of a quitter.
But again, you HARM your case & credibility & Respect...When you use numbers that SO MANY know are either lies or distortions.
    1) Nobody believes that Tyspon was only 5' 9". Show me ONE source for that height?
    Likelt 5' 10" & a 1/2, yes.
And prime Tyson weighed between 214-221-not 212 as you wrote.

Oh, you betray your bias by only accepting official sources-when it accords with your bias.
Such as nobody believes Fury is 6'9". Likely more like 6' 7", most all say.

there are a lot of fights at hw where the pace is lower then in the 90s. But thats because hw boxers are way bigger nowadays and punch harder therefor its usually one shot that can turn the whole fight around in a matter of seconds.
