Oh you instigating little *******. :sisi1

Canelo was clearly better at MW, better stamina, quicker of hand and foot and more experienced.

    Excellent win for GGG.

    Oh you trifling now.

Clearly GGG beat a better version. However, there are a few things to consider.

    • Floyd Mayweather beat Canelo 12-0 style
    • Canelo had more than enough experience at this time for it to be considered an ATG win
    • Floyd Mayweather's age
    • GGG clearly beat Canelo in the 1st also but it was not a 12-0 fight, it was a competitive fight, unlike with TBE
    • GGG did face a more "prime" Canelo but not as much as some may think

I think all things considered, Mayweather win is better, not by a great deal, but still a little better.

I see your logic Boon...but its a bit of a toss up really. Canelo was definitely more wily & experienced by the time he fought GGG so in that sense GGG win was a harder fought victory against a then better Canelo. Hence what you mean ( I presume) is that Floyds win looked more emphatic as he was in control & looked more decisive ...which it was but over a slightly inexperienced fighter ?!? hard call really.
ETA: we are talking about the cream of the crop here, all three guys are special imo

    Golovkin.
In the first GGG-Canelo fight, where Canelo did enough to win 4 rounds max and you still have a judge's card 118-110 for Alvarez, you have to question either the sheer competence of the judging, or the corruption.

    Let's compare:

    Canelo (Floyd version)
    • Drained
    • Young and still developing
    • Drug-free
    Clenelo (GGG version)
    • Roided to the gills
    • Loaded gloves
    • Developed into an elite puncher abd overall a much more educated/refined boxer
The Clenelo that Golovkin fought would put Floyd in the grave.

GGG win was better he schooled a roided up in the peak of his prime and at his best weight Canelo and he did it while being a clean fighter (something we cant say about Marquez or Floyd)

GGG lost to Canelo so Floyd, a loss and a draw in no world is better than a decisive win

GGG couldn’t beat Canelo despite being the far bigger man, and took an ugly beating in the rematch. Mayweather gave up a lot of size and still took him to school. Totally different level of fighter.

GGG of course. Aside from beating a way healthier, non-drained prime Clenelo who improved considerably after attending Prof Money May's class (when GGG was also way past his prime himself), he beat a roided to high heaven Clenelo whose strength, power and stamina were all enhanced after going on his ''Mexican meat'' diet.

And Clenelo weighed more down at 154 and Clenelo Weight six-seven years ago than GGG's average fight night weight and Clen has obviously filled out after jacking himself silly with PEDs and would've had at least 5-8lbs on GGG in both their fights so no he was not the smaller man. The only reason he was hiding down at 154 and 155 for so long despite weighing more than GGG on fight night is because GGG was up at 160 waiting for his ass.

The defence would like to call their next witness to the stand, none other than the legendary pugilist Floyd ''Money'' Mayweather aka TBE

“Like I said before, I’ve never fought a guy at a catchweight. I don’t fight guys at catchweights. I don’t plaster my gloves. These are things I don’t do, because I’m not that type of guy.”

"I would never want to put a fighter in a position where he's not comfortable. I want a guy when he's at his best. If he's at his best at 154 and he's strong and he's solid, then that's the fight we're fighting at. I walk around at 150, but at the end of the day - skills pay the bills.... Give me the guys where they are comfortable at their weight so there are no excuses"

"De La Hoya - Pacquiao fights him at a catchweight. Cotto - he fights him at a catchweight. When I fought De La Hoya I said 'give him to me at 154'. With Cotto - 'give him to me at 154'. Give me the guys where they are comfortable with their weight so there are no excuses"

''I look at Miguel Cotto as an undefeated fighter. He faced Pacquiao, but Pacquiao caught him at a catchweight. It wasn’t the best Miguel Cotto. He was drained; he wasn’t hydrated. Antonio Margarito was a guy who was cheating. I want him [Cotto] to be comfortable, to feel good when we meet to go into battle. I don’t want no excuses. So I’m going to go in there and be Floyd Mayweather. I’ve been there before and I know what it takes.”

    ---Floyd ''Money'' Mayweather

Ellberbe commented on Pacquiao’s catchweight win over Cotto in 2009, saying to ***** “He [Cotto] was a dead man walking when he went into the ring. The casual fan doesn’t know what difference one or two pounds can make when a fighter is already down to weight.”

"That's one thing Floyd make perfectly clear to us," Ellerbe said. "He didn't want to fight him at a catchweight, he wanted to fight him at the weight. Sometimes, you don't get full credit when you fight at a catchweight. Floyd wanted to make sure Miguel was comfortable."

    ''Canelo didn't look good yesterday''

''Problem is Floyd doesn't get tired and we've seen Canelo fade in fights before.. Having to take off that extra two pounds is.. people think it's just two pounds but when you already struggling to make 154 that extra two pounds is a lot. He [Canelo] is going to put on a lot of weight but he's not going to be able to put on the right kind of weight in just 24 hours. So he's gonna feel the fact that he's, you know, stripped his body, cutting his muscles to get to 152.''

Boxing trainer James Gogue spent 10 days in his camp before the Floyd fight and said he was shocked by Clenelo's work ethic and how lazy he was.

It was an excellent win for Floyd who has lots of others too but GGG definitely beat the better version of Clenelo
