Any list of British fighters of the last 30 years (1990 to 2020) will be pretty ****, to be honest.
Despite the hype and support we give our champions, they are a fairly mediocre bunch.

With an all-time list, we might be able to drag up some impressive all-time greats of the sport. But the last 30 years, no, not really.

Double Canadian team Olympian Lennox Lewis might be the best of the last 30 years.

Well, I wouldn't go that far. The Yanks are **** too now though, of course.

I'm far from the most fanatically vehement Brit Boxing booster, but I don't agree with this.

Top 100 P4P ATG is rarefied air. Falling short of that isn't tantamount to mediocrity.

Never mind Froch, I can only imagine how aggrieved Prince Patel is feeling.

That's true but if we take the best 20 or so Brits of last 30 years we'd find very few were even ranked the #1 in their division while they were 'world champions'. And some of those very few who were that, were only briefly that.

True regarding the Americans who've turned pro since 1990. There's Mayweather, Ward and a 135lb Mosley and not a lot else.

Which is why Naz may be underrated. Although his division was very weak compared to, say, super-middle or heavy 92-96

Well, that's as much a fault of the sport in general as anything. A proliferation of sanctioning body titles will do that. Very often it's been the case that divisions don't get a certified champion out of a lively crop, due to politics exacerbated by the alphabets.

Yeah, Naseem Hamed should probably be #2 behind Lennox Lewis, of the last 30 years.

That's right, but the flipside is that some fighters get to be 'world champions' and even manage a string of defences, while being somewhat second-rate.

It's true, but I'd hope even The Sun could sniff those out and seperate them from the real contenders Britain has produced in the past three decades.
