So, I had trouble coming up with this thread title. Since the word got out about a rumoured Mike Tyson comeback, I started reminiscing about watching Tyson fights 'live' on tv. I like the 'current' Tyson, the old retired champ who praises current competitors, is not a 'big head' who thinks he could have beaten anybody. He's a cool old dude. I haven't always liked the guy, when I was younger, I was the odd one out, everybody I came across was 'Mike Tyson this, Mike Tyson that. I didn't like the Tyson dominance, mismatch after mismatch for the world heavyweight title didn't excite me.
It got me thinking, right up until Tyson fought Lewis, I would be thinking about Tyson's opponent and be thinking 'just hold for 5 rounds and then you are definitely in the fight'. That thinking only ever happened wuth Tyson fights, I was absolutely convinced, for anybody to have a chance against Tyson, they had to continually hold until he tired. Also when watching Tyson, like nobody else ever, I was on the edge of my seat expecting he could end it in a second, a blink of the eye. No other elite boxer has ever illicited these feelings and thoughts in me, like Tyson did.
So just to be clear, I don't rate Tyson as the best professional boxer I have seen. However take this scenario, two dudes in a clear flat space, no ref, no holding, it's pure fist fighting, no breaks, no timed rounds. Doe's any other fighter who has competed in professional boxing history beat Tyson. I don't think so.

Inoue KO3 Tyson in a sanctioned boxing match. KO1 in your proposed scenario.

Duran is most definitely the correct answer. Chavez and Armstrong were bad man too, but Duran beats both.

Foreman would beat Tyson in that scenario imo.

Toney would hang out boxing Mike Tyson all day. The lazy long energied defensive wizard, with cute head movement s and slippery punches, vs, you know? Tyson the whole time trying to desimate his head off. Toney is the Ying to Tyson's yang or vice versa how the saying goes.

"clear flat space, no ref, no holding, it's pure fist fighting, no breaks, no timed rounds"

Tyson Fury with his size, stamina and toughness would be unbeatable.

Nevermind the fact this is ingrained in his culture.

When two men are blown out the bigger man almost always tends to hold the advantage

Nobody in history of Fury's size could hole his pace or was as tough as him never mind the fact he is mentally wired and literally born and bred to fight.

The Born and bred to fight thing is still a genetic potluck draw but Fury has proven he got them gifts. Again I remind you all that he is the first of a kind as a super heavyweight. He isn't muscular, he isn't a slow dumb plodding giant. He's slick. He's sexy and he's cool, calm and collected

Fury in that kind of fight would jab all night long till your face looks like a balloon. all the other men would look good for a couple of rounds then what happens when they tire? it's gameover.

Dillian Whyte would no mas against Fury.

Dillian Whyte is the most overrated dude in boxing right now. He's rioded his way up to 250 pounds like AJ. Fury is natural 300 pound man. They can't compete. Whyte tries to stand and box at range, Fury will decimate him. Whyte is famous for getting KO'd by AJ the big femi bodybuilder.

Whyte & Ruiz stylistically are the easiest fights in boxing for Fury....
