Marciano never faced anyone with an 85 inch reach, Liston never faced anyone who could throw 100 punches in the 15th round of a fight. I don't really think there is a correct answer, but I am voting for Rocky because, as I always say, character matters, and you never saw him quit in fights.

I would pick three Marciano victims to have a fair chance of beating Liston.

Which of the men that Sonny beat have a chance with Rocky?

Anyways, real life Marciano wouldn't see the 5th against Liston. If he couldn't avoid an old Louis's jab (by his own words he "had to take them" . This picture supports this https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca8...0.AjdTUDzJNm53R47SLE_QJRI62Fryht8ejDKJqaVjNMs) my oh my, he'd be in for a treat.

ESB Rocky effortlessly slips Liston's jab, gets inside, highlights his defensive skills (which were said to allegedly put Willie Pep to shame) countering every punch Liston attempts, puts on a clinic by using his highly acclaimed footwork to befuddle Liston (he didn't actually move his right foot first when moving to the left, it just looks like that to the uneducated eye) and batters Liston. Before you know it, Liston quits on his stool refusing to come out. Can anybody blame him?

Liston quit once in a fight with an injury that immobilized his shoulder when he was at the youngest (more likely closer to his 40s) 34 years old, and had seen but 3 rounds in the last years. What was Rocky doing at this age?

I can’t think of any guys Liston beat that Marciano wouldn’t flatten. I can’t see Patterson, Williams, Foley, or Machen beating Marciano.

However, I’d pick the Moore that faced Marciano to beat Liston. LaStarza, Charles, and Walcott against Liston would be 50/50 fights.

C'mon don't sell them short! All at the same time, they'd be at least 60-40!

This is Completely logical. It stands up entirely. No way are Williams, Patterson, machen and Foley beating Marciano.

I rate Liston very highly, especially as a contender during 1960, but you have to take everything into account.

Not really!Rocky slipped Louis jab very well and Louis jab is much faster than Liston and Louis is bigger man than Liston!
    https://gfycat.com/vengefulgrippingbuckeyebutterfly
And I only remember Louis threw the rope!Rocky knocked him very bad!
Better say Liston would not see 5 rounds!Marshall and Leotis are not Marciano!
As for Liston who was beaten twice by under 200lb fighters Rocky would be better than anyone he ever faced!
Rocky would KO him late because edge in power punch, stamina, work ratio, chin, heart, endurance!

Liston by KO in under 3 rounds.
If they fight 100 times, Liston knocks him out 100 times. This ain't even close.

I believe that Liston has wrong style for Marciano and he would score a TKO over him with his deadly jab and strong uppercuts.

Anybody who says that Marciano wouldn't have any chances is ridiculous though.
