There is a new karate tournament with high production quality, where they take the best karate experts from diffderent countries around the world and get them to compete with certain rules, you can ground and pound but you can`t throww hook punches, how big will this tournament become, and will it ever become a PPV sport? Can this event grow like the UFC did?

I'd pay to watch more fights like that that was amazing!
But I don't know how succesful it could be MMA and the UFC has kind of taken over that lane already

I did t see anything new there. What was shown there is what most people would call kick boxing.

It was more entertaining and looked pretty high level, a lot of money has been put into the production etc.

Maybe its just me but I don' see anything special about the fight or production and honestly the guys look very green. It was just two guys kick boxing on a large mat instead of a boxing ring.

    Just how I saw it.

I posted this back in May 2018 and for all its production value, it hasn’t seemed to have caught on.

i'd like to see a hybrid of this with only boxing and wrestling rules only .No subs or kicks allowed.

Not sure what you are wanting to see if no kick and sub. No sub would be two guys hugging on the mat. Without the fear of getting submitted all the other guy has to do is clinch and hold , be it standing or on the ground. Essentially what you want is a boxing match where you can take your opponent down but nothing else.

Don’t think there is any fan base for that.

I prefer to see the fighters be able to use as many tools as possible in a fight that's why I have come to like MMA over all other combat sports. Obviously it comes to a point with eye gouging, soccer kicks to the head of a fighter who is on the floor and nearly finished etc etc where it is just too much for the viewing public in a civilised society.

I want to watch a fight sport where we find out who the best fighters are, all things considered within reason.

If there is no sub, you will never get a ground and pound. You think its just throw someone down and ground and pound? It don't work that way. If there is no fear of getting a submission hold on you all the other guy has to do is clinch. Its pretty damn easy to do with out fear of getting put in a chock or having your arm get put in an arm bar.

We already got muay thai kickboxing, which is a far superior product and more realistic

breaking a clinch from the top position is not difficult as it seems.
