Rubin Carter vs. Jimmy Ellis; It took me three nights in a row to finish this one. What I would imagine as being a good fight turned out to be an inexplicably dull bout.
idk, in this fight, the most that happened was Ellis went down from a good right hand in the 4th, and late in the fight, Ellis hit Carter with like EIGHT shots in a row. This fight was had no reason for being dull. The guys were not even jabbing, just doing nothing, and clinching for no reason. It was horrible.
One of the worst I've ever watched in the flesh from ringside was Lawrence Okolie versus Matty Askin at Wembley on the Povetkin-Joshua undercard a couple of years back. Completely sucked the atmosphere out of the whole place. Matt Skelton was involved in some absolutely horrendous spectacles, particularly the first Danny Williams fight, the second Sprott one and his world title challenge against Chagaev, which must be one of the worst Heavyweight title fights ever.
Try Chris Byrd vs DaVarryl Williamson. Double dare ya. Perhaps the worst heavyweight title match I ever saw.
the problem with that is who wants to spend time watching dull 12-rounders just to prove it's more boring than another 12-rounder?
It qualifies. It look like to friends going through the motions. Lots of boos, even the ref asked for more action.
Omar Narvaez vs Zolani Tete. A fight so painfully dull that no video I know of it was uploaded to the internet. Maybe the worst fight I've ever seen.
