A lot of his cruiserweight fights were wild brawls, although one could say they were more like blowouts in favor of Cooper

have you seen Weaver vs. Cooper, it seems like it would be a brawl. I never have seen it cuz I'd have to buy a dvd, and I've been putting it off.

that's what I thought, Cooper's level of opposition went down after Moorer, kinda like u were saying. Cooper was subject to several bad stoppages in my opinion.

Loren Ross? Did Cooper go down in Round 1? that seems to be his signature

It's not a brawl. Kind of a boring decision. Weaver jabs a lot.

ya, I knew that was a possibility with Weaver, Cooper just doesn't seem to get caught up much in boxing sessions or dull fights.

Was his loss to Reggie Gross any good? I imagine the Gross that fought Tyson, when he fought Cooper it would be a thriller.

No. Coop beat him pretty thoroughly.

If my memory of that fight is correct, Cooper started strong but got tired and Gross came back to win. It was on ESPN and I haven't seen it since it happened.

Several literally means three. In any event, I have never been able to watch the Weaver fight, but I understand that was pretty hard-fought. I think he had one of his best nights against Joe Hipp.

I wouldn’t call that fight a “war” but Smokin Bert did ok in the early rounds. He was backing up Sanders against the ropes, cutting off the ring, working the body and hitting him with some good shots. I actually gave him the second round. The end kinda sucked though. Bert got floored, got back up took a couple more shots then quit.

A nice memory of the event, and I always find it interesting to read incidental details of experiences like that, but I couldn't help but snicker at the "First Golf War."
