Chuvalo's never been knocked down, but then again, he's never faced the hardest puncher of all time. I think this one has the possibility of being one of the best of the 70s. But because of the different possible outcomes, I believe they would have to fight twice. Chuvalo wins the first by a hard-fought knockout, and Shavers the second by a close decision, despite a good close by Chuvalo; Shavers comes the closest to putting Chuvalo down, but his unbelievable record stays intact.

Chuvalo was a pretty good slugger with good stamina and had the chin to hang with Shavers and wear him out. Good fight

George Chuvalo takes the right hand bombs thrown by Earnie Shavers, then counters him with his brutal body blows, then drags him into deep waters, Shavers is staggering exhausted at the final bell, George by unanimous decision. Remember George stopped Jerry Quarry in round 7 on Dec 12 1969, and Jerry Quarry kayoed Earnie in round 1 on Dec 14 1973.

Foreman did hit just as hard as shavers but he had a wider arsenal. And was much better Finisher ,had a much better chin, was bigger, had more physical strength, much better jab. Foreman was a different animal, shavers was a limited guy that could hit very hard with certain shots

they were supposed to fight and George pulled out. Same thing with Bonavena. Can't see Earnie beating those 2 guys. At best he might win 1, but he is getting stopped himself.

Similar to Shaver's vs Cobb. Chuvalo late stoppage.

Yes and yet you pick him over much better fighters, because he hit hard.

No. Because he was a heavyweight and hits extremely hard. You are picking smaller guys over shavers under the only pretext they were better, i also think that robinson was the best pfp boxer ever but i don't pick him to beat henrry cooper... Ridiculous

You picked him over fighters that fought at HW, not over guys like Robinson who were way too smal for Shavers.

Robinson and cooper was only an example. Archie moore was a former middleweight i don't care if he fought at hw he was not a hw.
