Gvozdyk was fighting toe to toe, which is suicide against Beterbiev. I don’t think anybody currently at 175 will win a toe to toe battle with Beterbiev, since he’s too strong and accurate on the inside. Gvozdyk started off good using angles and punching and moving, which kept him out of danger and allowed him to score, but once he started standing in front of Beterbiev and exchanging he got broken down.
I think what happened was after round 6 Beterbiev realized that Gvozdyk had nothing for him. He took his absolute best punch and ate it. He ate that shot. Then he walked him down.
Can’t disagree with this. It’s going to take a good game plan to neutralize and beat Beterbiev. Gvozdyk definitely wasn’t used to somebody walking through his punches like Beterbiev did. If Gvozdyk manages to work his way back up and get another shot at Beterbiev I think he can decision Beterbiev with the right game plan.
