I mean, is that how low the standards are these days, to even be qualified as an all-time great, much less the greatest? I mean, the bare minimum requirement for a boxer to even qualify as an all-time great is to clean-up the division. To be the greatest, you would've had to kept the division cleaned and had to remain on top for longer than other greats whilst defeating various different and new opponents of different styles that keep arriving. So Fury, with only 2 half-decent wins, is somehow now qualified as an all-time great? Give me a break! There are still more question marks than answers about Fury. He is still yet to clean-up the division and face the other top fighters of the division in just today's era that have variety of styles. We're not going to give him credit for what he hasn't done, nor will we just assume that he could simply beat anybody and everybody today, purely because he beat an old, shot to pieces Wladmir Klitschko and a hype-job in Deontay Wilder who was tailor made for him.
Not really! He ducked the rematch until Wlad was retired and he almost got stopped by a very limited Wilder. Then he went and transformed his team and his style just to rematch Wilder. I wouldn't say he made either man look stupid. Especially when you consider how dreadful the Wlad fight was. I will say, head to head, Fury does well against every HW in history and has the potential to be one of the best to fight at HW, but right now, he needs to rule the division for a few years and beat all comers to get there.
Argument: Unbeaten record against several worthy opponents and a fair amount of adversity. Comprehensive outboxing of a champion previously unbeaten for a decade. Return to the ring after years of massive weight gain and drink/drug abuse to clearly outbox one of the biggest punchers of all time, also unbeaten. Rematch being a humiliating demolition. What a troll I am.
Frazier doesn't stand any chance whatsoever in these h2h mythical matchups. He gets his ass handed to him by any HW great past 1980.
Great post. Don't listen to these dummies who are nostalgic for past boxers. In general, modern boxers are better in almost every possible way.
FTFOH. Marciano was a joke compared to modern fighters. He stands no chance whatsoever of beating any HW great post 1950.
