How can you say Fury has dominated the division? Last time I checked, he doesn't have a win over Joshua. There are still plenty of guys out there for him to fight. Joshua, Ruiz, Uysk all pose different matchup problems. Not saying that they all beat him, I actually do think Fury is the best heavyweight right now. He has NOT cleaned out the division though and I haven't seen anything that makes me think he could handle a prime Sonny Liston.
Not sure what Usyk has to do with the conversation but yes Uysk is slightly taller but no where near as thick as Sonny was. Sonny had longer arms and was much more powerfully built.
I'm pretty sure Andy Ruiz and Dillian Whyte would beat the vast majority of heavyweight champions pre-Ali.
the fury who went life and death with a fighter who wasn't even ranked, wallin? granted, every one can have an off night.
Against the Sonny Liston who had his jaw broken and was beaten by 19-6 Marty Marshall. Bad fights happen, and, ranked or no, we don't know how good Wallin is. The bottom line is that Fury has a good record of wins against WladKltischcko, Deontay Wilder, ChisoraX2, Steve Cunngiham, Christian Hammer, and Kingpin Johnson when he was a contender, against no defeats. And yes, we can throw Wallin in, because he will be a contender on some level at some point.
Standing in front of Liston is a bad move. George Foreman who sparred with Liston said on record that Liston was the hardest puncher and the only guy that ever stood up to him on the ring. Those words carry a lot of weight from Foreman considering the amount of guys he has fought over many, many years in the sport. The way to beat Liston was movement which gives Fury an excellent chance since he can move well for a big man. I just take exception when someone post that he would Kill Liston. I don't believe for a second that Fury would have an easy time with Liston at all. I need to see more from Fury before I start comparing him to an all time great. Was he impressive against Wilder yes! But Wilder is not Sonny Liston that is for damn sure.
Can we stop comparing mere mortals to Fury Tyson Fury can beat any man born from their mother and fight Tony Bellew in-between rounds. When he fell from the stars in 1988 he spent his entire adult life searching for a man who could better him and it's been concluded that man hasn't been born yet.
Not a chance, Liston would be all over Fury. Of course Fury could outbox him, but he could get his head knocked off Its 50/50 , either Liston by KO or Fury by decision
Fury looked good vs Wilder. Looked horrible against Wallin last fight. Probably would like like **** again soon. He needs to beat some top contenders to prove thst he can hang with the best fighters in history.
